Triple switch only turning on one light

I have a triple switch in the kitchen, it controls the ceiling light, under the counter lights, and an outdoor security light. All three worked until recently. Now, only the ceiling light switch works. I have replaced the switch, checked all the wiring, ensured all the wires connected to the switch are live (which they are). At the top of my kitchen cupboards a wire (pictured) comes out above the extractor and feeds into 4 transformers that power the under the counter lights. I assume this wire is connected to the main wall switch that is definitely live, however I’ve tested it and it is not live, so that explains why the under counter lights are not working. I cannot get any further with this wire as my kitchen cabinets are built around it so it would mean removing them to access it. Does anyone have any ideas as to Why this wire wouldn’t have power, when, as I mentioned, they were working up until a while ago?

chanti1, my grandparents used to have massive condensation problems with their double glazing as it was added as an afterthought, it had about a 4 inch gap and was not sealed so they would have to keep cloths in the gap to mop it all up. In my parents house there were a couple of windows prone to this problem between the panes - caused when the seal on the double glazed units failed. Because you can't get to it the result is eventually mould. The units had to be changed which to my mind seems drastic and wasteful. There should be a way of removing, cleaning and resealing units on site. Of course condensation happens with single glazing all the time. Where I live now we get condensation on the outside of the window at night. Air conditioning indoors and extreme humidity outside with night time temperatures still in the high twenties centigrade does that.

I feel like I'm making loads of decision but still not really getting anywhere. There is so much to think about! Spotted some lovely toggle light switches so I've already bought them. I know where the light switches are going but its a case of figuring out the best places to put the plug sockets because we have so many in my mums house but we still run out! We've opted for a few USB sockets too so at least if we are charging phones and laptops, we are freeing space for other things too. In terms of kitchen layout, the suggestion of the seating in the bay window is great but because that would mean the kitchen would have to go at the other end, we've decided against this. It would work, and would probably be the best option once the horrible extension is knocked down but at the moment, the extension blocks all the sun light on that side so the kitchen would be very dim and dark for a while. The extension is something we are saving for and is more likely to be done in 4-5 years time so I'm not sure it makes sense to be in a dark corner for that length of time. We've had the house a month tomorrow and so far it has been ripping the house apart. January is the month we put everything back! Super excited. Plumber, heating engineer and builders are all put to the task in January. New floor in the kitchen, wall removed and built up again to accommodate the new window so that we can have units underneath, first fix plumbing, first fix heating and boiler installation. All other windows to be installed. Hoping that guttering and chimneys can be looked at too! We have a chimney breast on almost every wall which I'm sure was great for heating years ago but as they are no longer used, they cause so many damp issues! I bought paint tester pots today - I have no idea why, we are nowhere near ready for that but it just felt nice to buy something pretty and cosmetic rather than look at insulation and damp proofing. P.S; any suggestions on obscure glass for the bathroom and hallway? I've been given a huge list of options but unsure as to what to choose. Thinking just Contora or Arctic?

LTS, Would love to know more about your Lightwave system. We were considering installing this throughout the house so you could set 'scenes' etc and have a kill switch by the front door but since Covid 19 are slightly balking at the cost difference between this system which we reckon is the best of what's out there and a standard set of dimmers for third of the price! The upside is all the lovely mood setting, the downside is that they're not the most attractive switches. Are you happy with Lightwave? Any regrets? Anything gone wrong? Do you think you're using it to its full potential? We're sitting on the fence and have to make a decision one way or the other so would love your feed back.

Dutch 1950s house here. First thing we did was insulate insulate insulate. The exterior walls are made of 13cms thick concrete, so we used high end bubble foil and plasterboard (plus loads of slats and screws) to insulate all the walls and double layer of rockwool on the attic floor (attic remained as it was built, because the wooden structure was meant to breathe). Then took out the pine floors and insulated some more before placing the pine back. All of this diy, which I bet we've already earned back twice in the past 8 years, saving on heating bills! We also spent a small fortune on hr+ pvc windows, but the comfort (and silence) is amazing! All well worth the money. We keep our heating on 16/17C, because moist (and mold) was a major problem in here before we moved in. And when we get home/up and turn it to 19/20C, it only takes about half an our to get there. The bedroom radiators are mostly on the frost-free position. Our central heater (gas) is a model from 1994 but serves us well. So does our wood burner, which we ocassionally use in winters. Our home's footprint is 6.5x6.5m, so it takes about 5 small logs to heat our livingroom to 24 degrees, the benefits of a small home!
