Triple Pleat Curtains

Hi Melissa,
Please can you tell me if you can make up some triple pleat black out curtains with material I already have? It's good quality drape fabric by Ian Mankin. I'm In Milton Keynes but travel to oxford area for work so could drop off and collect. Thank you.

Definitely paint the whole wall aubergine but not including the fireplace. That will create a nice contrast. If you decide on wallpaper only go for plain/textured rather than pattern. Regarding the window treatment, I'd use curtain panels on either side for decorative purposes only to tie the whole look together and use venetian blinds on windows. I wrote a blog about blinds. If you like pattern include it through cushions, rug and decorative accessories such as vase, plant pots etc. Use tall table lamps or floor lamps on either side of the sofa to balance the window area height and use neutral tones on the shade (if patterned ) or rather completely plain. Think about the colour balance. Too much of one colour is too overpowering. Use the 60%-30-30%-10% rule when using pattern and colour. chanti1, my grandparents used to have massive condensation problems with their double glazing as it was added as an afterthought, it had about a 4 inch gap and was not sealed so they would have to keep cloths in the gap to mop it all up. In my parents house there were a couple of windows prone to this problem between the panes - caused when the seal on the double glazed units failed. Because you can't get to it the result is eventually mould. The units had to be changed which to my mind seems drastic and wasteful. There should be a way of removing, cleaning and resealing units on site. Of course condensation happens with single glazing all the time. Where I live now we get condensation on the outside of the window at night. Air conditioning indoors and extreme humidity outside with night time temperatures still in the high twenties centigrade does that.

The curtain style gives a subtle difference but is one that can still elevate a room! A wave pleat is a good modern option as it creates a boutique style with uniform pleats using a wave track system. A sail pleat is also a popular option as it uses less fabric and has a simple heading, but is still very elegant. A pinch or double/triple pleat gives a bit more of a classic look. Thanks @sonia, yes I’d come across this site and have some fabric samples from them, but they work out at around 3 times the cost of readymade curtains so I was hoping that readymade s-waves exist somewhere. Seems very odd that they don’t - I can’t quite figure out why they couldn’t just be made in standard sizes, but there seems to be an obsession with pencil pleats and eyelets in the readymade market!
