Any ideas how to make over a bedtime sit making the most of the space.
Comments (5)Thanks. It's quite difficult to judge the space from the photo angle. I'm also unsure as to whether you're just altering the layout or furnishing and decorating? My thoughts anyway. I'd turn the bed 90 degrees and have it in the top left. I'd move the cabinet with the flowers to the bottom of the bed. Swing the wardrobe round so it's on the right hand wall. I'd buy a tall unit to place in front of the bed to house a tv, obviously allowing enough space for someone to get into bed, something like the one from interiordesignideas. I'd have a 2 seater sofa in the bottom left with a small chair facing the tv unit and a small coffee table. I'd take off the end of the kitchen worktop (put a new trim on the end) and add a small space saving table. If you are refurbishing I'd try and get wardrobes that do not look like a traditional wardrobe ie something similar to your cabinets...See MoreAny ideas on what I could do with this space?

I would agree that a radiator cover is a good idea. In white is will help break the colour up and hide the radiator but it will also give a ledge. I would place a plant for a nice vibrant feel adding some great freshness to the space and maybe the odd accessories - so 'a' book with a candle or small vase. A picture above it will help bring some accent colour into the space which you can take from your own furnishings or introduced. Based on the width of cover you go for - I see a plug there - so you could also add another layer and height of lighting with a lamp. This will add a great feel to the space. I hope that helps :) All the best....See MoreNo idea how to decorate this living room.. any ideas?
Comments (4)Hi, congrats on your first home together! I'm struggling to get my head round the floor plan. Is there really no access to the living room from the hall? Nor to the kitchen? I think the L lends itself well to a dining area up by the kitchen and cosier seating in the other part. You could be bold and use different colour schemes to denote the different areas (perhaps with the dining area continuing the colours/style of the kitchen so they feel connected?) or just your furniture, rugs and lighting to change the feel of the spaces. Is there a nice view out through the conservatory that you'll want to be facing? Might you like to fit a fireplace on the end (garage) wall to give a focal point to the sitting room? Are you bookcases and house plants people? Good luck!...See MoreRowlands Gill, how to re configure my downstairs any idea’s welcome
Comments (10)Hi, This is a really fantastic floorplan for ideas as its almost a blank canvas. Here is a quick design that I came up with. I thought you might want a proper entrance hall so that you don’t enter the whole space immediately. As you come through the kitchen is now on the left with living room open to it but partly screened with a central fireplace (the chimney might have to be cleverly routed through the ceiling or the fire could be electric). Then at the back of the house you have a large dining area and and enclosed lounge. I think some folding doors or more glazing at the back with a raised patio or decking would also make this dining room more of a feature! Please let me know what you think? I have a few more alternative ideas as well. And I wish you all the best with your project!! Phill...See MoreLouise Stratton
