Recently had bathroom done & really pleased with the finish. However on reflection think we should have gone with a bigger shower tray as water is splashing everywhere. Shower mats are really wet after showered used. Any advice on whether it worth getting something that would help? My thoughts were moveable screen at either ends but not sure if that will spoil the look. Help needed please... thank you

For a start I would glass over the window opening so it is sealed but openable. Then a plain frosted plastic film on the other side of the glass. Because of the shape etc you are not going to be able to have a glass screen. So I would move the shower rail nearer the window. Then have a triangular waterproof curtain made that can easily hook onto some eyelets on the angled ceiling. A ships chandler would probably be a good place to source these things. Or A smarter and possibly expensive idea, screw a thin mast like structure with a groove to the angled ceiling. Then as you would a sail have your curtain move up and down in the grove. Otherwise seal and drain the floor immediately where the excess water is spraying which is a pain. When I was trained as a furniture designer/maker in 1981 at The John Makepeace School for Craftsmen in Wood, we had amazing original roll top baths with Carrara marble bases in each bathroom. The bases had a drain in so any water splashing out of the bath fell onto the drained Carrara, not ideal in this situation. The amazing residential course was at Parnham House, Beaminster, Dorset which was built in 1522, it had great detail even in the bathrooms.

How annoying I wrote a long reply and it didn't post!! Thanks for the replies! Not sure raising the ceiling is an option as it would cost more than we'd gain I think. Interesting to see the different layout ideas. Yes moving the door would mean it would hit the bath. I don't think the hall space would be wide enough for a shower? What do you think? Good to see an idea of how we can reconfigure the toilet sink and bath layout though. I don't think moving the bathroom to the bedroom at the back would be ideal as we'd prefer these rooms to be kept away from the main road. Is it a bad idea to loose a fourth bedroom for a bigger ensuite and bathroom? Is there a way that the fourth bedroom can be reduced in size (but still useable) and making the bathroom (as a minimum) and ensuite bigger?
