What material are the cup handles?

Inspired by this photo, I have ordered pewter handles for my kitchen, but now they've arrived they're too shiny. I much prefer this darker hue. Is there a particular name for this colour/material (eg: antique pewter)? Thank you for any help you can offer.

Depends what you mean by retro as to what may suit. Sarah Been has just released some kitchen cupboard handles through a company (sorry, can't recall the name, but Google it and you should find it) which have a retro modern vibe. For true retro style, take a look at the mini series of books called 'Fifties Style', 'Sixties Style' and so on. They reproduce advertisements and home magazine spreads which will show what styles were hot in those decades. The books are only about £5 each.

Hi. They seem to have a different finish? I would just go for cup handles with Victorian knobs personally. I am from the school that a handle is a handle whether on a drawer or door. But picking the right one would make all the difference. I was advised by a kitchen designer to avoid ever having 2 pulls on a drawer, even if large, because people tend to use just one of them (usually the right if right handed) and over time this can mess up the drawer as it’s being pulled a little wonky each time. He said if you have modern decent runner the drawer doesn’t take much force to open so one is fine from that perspective. I also think one looks better but that’s subjective.
