90s House Reno

Help! I’m buying this house and trying to decide how to update the exterior. The windows are rosewood upvc and the house is surrounded by lots of houses of a similar design/ era. Would like to extend the drive so there is parking for at least two cars. The garage door needs painting and don’t know whether to get the windows and beams resprayed. Would like to move the door to the front of the porch and add a vertical window in the side, as the hallway is very gloomy and cramped so this will add more space and light internally. What do you think? Which colours should I choose? Something in-keeping with the neighbours or more modern/ more traditional? Any ideas gratefully received!!

We are considering scrapping the idea of having an island with just worktops either side and wall cabinets where needed. We also thought of having the dining table in the conservatory and create a utility room and WC where the dining table is now but we really want opening living throughout and don't want to break the front room away from the rest of the space. OnePlan - Thanks for your suggestions. I love the idea of coffee and tea in a unit! Plumbing on the island and left side are very difficult due to location of drains outside. Jonathan - Thanks for your suggestions. I love the plan you made. Unfortunately due to drainage, we can't have the sink on the left side. I will definitely have to consider the quiet appliances as you suggested.

Hi Jordan, we agree with Kimbereley! Something different that we don't see often is "outdated" bathrooms sometimes those can be the best ones if styled properly! In terms of the green paint, we like the idea if you're unsure about the whole wall you could always opt for a feature wall and go from there if you deem to love it or hate it. Next the vanities, we don't think they're bad, but if you wanted to put a spin on things maybe you could remove the old ones and refit with a traditional bathroom vanity making it still have that old-time feeling but a bit more modern to this day in age. With the mirror, some chic designs could match this bathroom for example: an arched mirror, a rectangle art deco mirror, or an oval mirror. I hope this helps, Sarah! 😊
