Can I make a mirror above this off centred sink work?

Have purchased a new house, but the sink is centred in a pretty annoying place. I want to hang a mirror on the wall above it, but I think the fact it will be off centre to the sink will drive me mad! Or do I just not bother with a mirror at all?

Does anyone have any ideas to make this work? Would removing the awful under sink cabinet balance things slightly? I will be retiling the whole bathroom so wondered if mirrored tiles would be an option?

Hi! I see your frustration. I like things to be central as well, 🙈

Will you be changing the layout around at all in the future or moving the sink? If so then I wouldn't worry about a temporary mirror and how it looks then.

Another option is to get a thinner one that will be central to the taps and won't overhang the window.

Try a shaving mirror instead perhaps ?

I hadn't initially spotted the trunk, it looks quite slim and should hopefully work in that you can move around it plus it brings furniture into the middle of the room. In terms of the sofa my first choice would be green if you want a colour rather than a neutral and it looks as if you like that colour anyway! I think a chair could possibly work either to the left or right of the fire. It's hard when you have furniture in a room but cutting out paper templates of everything or using cardboard boxes always works. At least the tv isn't taking up room :) good luck in whatever you do, it really is a lovely room

I would suggest taking everything off of your mantel (bar the lanterns), and mounting the mirror above it to the wall - don't have it leaning. The cupboard in the middle of the fireplace really needs moving... if you don't have enough storage in your side board without it then I'd suggest replacing both units for one bigger storage unit. You could also get rid of all your cushions, and replace with some brighter ones and a sofa throw - I would also move your sofa with its back against the window. And as people have said above, the rug is too small for the room, by replacing this for a bigger one it'll bring your space altogether. And lastly, check out Desenio.co.uk for artwork.

You could have a tall narrow mirror (rectangular or oval) centred on the tap, and therefore narrower than the sink. Or, you could cover the whole wall to the edge of the window cill in mirror. Perhaps built out on a slight frame to cover the boxed pipework too. This could be made to measure or you coujd do it on a budget with mirror tiles. Either way you could divide it with a shelf or two. Another option would be to create a mirror wall incorporating an integral cabinet, using the space you'd get building the wall out to frame the boxed pipework.

No. You can have panelling that goes two thirds the way up the wall topped with a shelf (like an upside down skirting board if that makes any sense). You can also have it over the panelling in line with a horizontal board. There are lots of different versions.

Would the Slim Black Beam mirror with iron frame £115 from graham&green w21 cm, h124cm fit? I don’t know the ceiling height... could you fit roller blind high up on wall (not in recess) to line up with top of mirror?

Wow love that mirror!! Could really get on board with the monochrome look too! And thanks for the drawing ! Also off topic whippetgirl- my sister has a whippet. Such fab dogs :)

I have also had this idea provided to me of adding a corner wall unit.

What are peoples thoughts on this look?
