What type of flooring?

What type of flooring would you put with this wallpaper in a small room that just fits a toilet and sink? I was thinking of a black and white patterned floor but it may be too much. What are your thoughts/advice?

Definitely not black and white. When you see black and white together it dominates as a contrast and so anything else is obliterated. I would try to find a large format tile that is similar to the warm grey in the paper, not too light not too dark. Porcelanosa Dover Topo (I have in my bathroom) may work. It's a gorgeous slightly textured vitrified porcelain.

I agree - a plainer mid grey to match a tone in your wallpaper.

I agree! As it is not always feasible to install real timber or stone, Karndean is the best vinyl option. I am going to have 36sqm of it installed in my own place. I have direct contacts with the manufacturers here in the UK. If anyone is interested, please inbox me and will get you in touch.

I agree that most laminate are now very durable and water resistant but LVT is technically superior to laminate. LVT is softer and warmer than laminate and easier to install too. In terms of pricing our LVT, from a very reputable German supplier start at £15.83+vat per square metre. while out laminate floor start at £14.5+vat. Both before discount

Most likely this is engineered wood. It could also be laminate flooring or LVT (luxury vinyl tile). Laminate is the cheapest, but will need replacing. LVT is the next in price, an artificial wood product but very hard wearing. Engineered wood is the most expensive, but has all the pros of wood: individuality, sustainability and will last a lifetime so long as it's looked after well! Hope that helps!

Or you could go for a vinyl in either the burnt orange or one of the blue tones you have in the paper - depends how bold you want to go! Love that paper btw

I would suggest an oak flooring, but stick to the darker side of oak rather than the light.

Perhaps a walnut or brown mahogany.

William Morris! Im such a fan. I would go with the grey of the leaves for the floor. It won’t clash with the wallpaper which is definitely the star of the show. You could go bold, but you already have with the wallpaper. I’d love to see it complete so please share!

I think a wood effect - either LVT or just sheet vinyl as it’s a small space.
