A kitchen that drives me crazy
Comments (3)I love the work top, like this sort of real world dilemma too. The fridge is an ungainly focal point. Could you swap it with the cupboard next to the cooker? The wall units are too high, and the different sizes are distracting. I think I would paint the floor units, white would blend in the white goods, but black or grey would make it seem intentionally unfitted. The baskets on top of the cupboards add to the distraction. It isn't terrible though, it is light and airy with good workspace, and it looks clean and practical, sometimes we only see the problems in our homes, I think you have made a good working kitchen without spending much money, and should be congratulated for that....See MoreHelp! Comments (16)Steph I really like the vanity unity design, however as you mentioned that there is very little space and having a unit like in the photo you won't be able to utilize the space underneath it too much. I also noticed , that you already installed new window so not much you can do about it.Depending on the wall length( where you planning to have vanity unit) , maybe an option with semi recessed sink and wall hung toilet would work?like in the photo, but there are plenty of examples on the houzz https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/london-wembley-modern-bathroom-london-phvw-vp~115845783 you would free up the space under the window and could have radiator there Good luck and look forward to see photos once it's finished...See MoreDinesen Douglas Fir Floor - am I mad to contemplate?
Comments (22)Hey Richard, Sounds like we do indeed. Happy to share and we might able able to swap useful notes! I've just had a quick google on how to send a message in Houzz as I hadn't got a clue! "Click on the profile, there should be a message tab on the top right of their page. If there isn't one, they have set their profile to not receive messages. In which case they need to go to their settings, click on advanced settings and check the boxes for people they are willing to receive messages from. " I've done this for you but I think you don't have messages enabled. I've just tweeked mine but I think you may need to tweak yours then we can swap contact details! To send a message to another member of Houzz: Click your icon or go to 'Your Houzz' at uppper right. Click 'Edit Profile' Click 'Advanced Settings' on the left bar Scroll almost to the bottom to 'someone messages me' Click 'everytime' When you receive a message Houzz will will send you an email saying you have received a message. Go to 'Your Houzz' The link will be within the email Click 'Messages' and you can read and reply all within Houz. Both sender and recipient have to enable messaging for this to work....See MoreURGENT white & navy paint names needed for north facing room
Comments (43)Hi Tani. Mmmm. Mixing colours by hand can be tricky in large quantities which is why I suggested taking a small sample of your existing paint first and and seeing how other colours change it. For sampling you can use any acrylic paint (acrylic has similar properties to emulsion) as you’re just trying to identify which colour you need for mixing, could be other tester pots, kids acrylic paints, artists acrylics etc. but when doing the final mix I would use the same brand and finish paint. In theory (and from memory) to make a dark navy blue lighter and warmer you’d need more of a dirty peach colour then add this to the navy at approx 1 part peach to 10 navy then add more if needed. All a matter of trying and testing. Having said all this it may be possible to sell the paint you have now (after all navy is popular atm) and get another colour....See More1sandyh
