Comments (2)A slight daring suggestion I have would be to paint on the windows themselves with a very thin layer of watered down acrylic paint or liquid chalk that will dry and begin to make a stained glass window effect as the window is rather small to work with but can become a bit of a feature. Comments (3)Hiya, Firstly, to answer your question, uPVC window frames definitely don't rule out shutters. Lots of our customers mix the two and they really do create a stunning effect. If you're worried about light though and do decide on shutters, be sure to choose wider louvres to avoid making your space dark. Alternatively, you talk about wanting to bring in a cosy feel. Roman blinds are really good at this, or even any type of layered blinds with curtains. It can seem tricky to balance cosiness with privacy and light control without making things too dark, so why not try Wooden blinds layered with curtains? Personally I would get full length curtains for every window and where windows are small get a wider curtain on a wider pole to trick your eye into thinking the window is bigger....See MoreSonia
