Window dressing dilemma - have I have a mistake?
After making what I believe to be a dramatic statement with my newly added ensuite (see photos), I decided to continue the theme into my bedroom. I have used the same wall colour range but 2 or 3 shades lighter (dark grey) and painted all of the walls in the bedroom (see other photos). The bedroom furniture will be replaced when I decide what I want so please ignore that. So, when thinking about what to put at the windows to replace the curtains that are there I am now stumped. My original thinking was white wooden blinds but will that be too stark? If not white then what colour? I am not a lover of curtains, should I go for roman blinds? Or have I simply made a big mistake by using the dark grey on all of the walls? Thoughts and opinions would be welcomed. Thank you

Comments (2)A slight daring suggestion I have would be to paint on the windows themselves with a very thin layer of watered down acrylic paint or liquid chalk that will dry and begin to make a stained glass window effect as the window is rather small to work with but can become a bit of a feature. Comments (3)Hiya, Firstly, to answer your question, uPVC window frames definitely don't rule out shutters. Lots of our customers mix the two and they really do create a stunning effect. If you're worried about light though and do decide on shutters, be sure to choose wider louvres to avoid making your space dark. Alternatively, you talk about wanting to bring in a cosy feel. Roman blinds are really good at this, or even any type of layered blinds with curtains. It can seem tricky to balance cosiness with privacy and light control without making things too dark, so why not try Wooden blinds layered with curtains? Personally I would get full length curtains for every window and where windows are small get a wider curtain on a wider pole to trick your eye into thinking the window is bigger....See More

3 years agoI love your paint colour. It has a green tinge, at least on my screen. I think white painted wooden blinds would look lovely. There are lots of whites you can choose, just don’t go too near cream as i think it can look a bit nicotine stained! Adding more accessories such as art, mirror, cushions and throw, will help cosy it up a bit too. You could add another colour in the accessories too, such as blush pink, or yellow. What colour are the grey walls? Lovely bathroom too.

3 years agoI’d go for white to match the frames. We painted our brown upvc windows white, white blinds against a dark green wall and I like the contrast. We got rid of curtains
