Any Final tweaks to this kitchen design?
Comments (17)Yay on the integrated extractor. OnePlan will be able to explain the dishwasher thing better, but the concern is that it might rub against your corner cupboard unless there's a filler between the corner and the dishwasher (i.e. you need a bit of a gap even if you have flush doors with cutout handles). The closeness to the sink is fine. Under cabinet downlights are good, but make sure you have enough lighting onto the counter, not just the wooden shelves. I know what you posted wasn't a lighting plan, but it only had one overhead recessed light in the centre, which will give you a shadow over the sink and everywhere else. Just wanted to check that your fab kitchen will be the best it can be and that you can see what you are serving to your thirsty guests sitting at your outside bar!...See MoreThinking of re-modelling our home. Comments (3)Individual finishes are personal so if you change the windows or render this is entirely personal. In my humble opinion the size, shape and placement of the windows with this roofline firmly seat this house in its era. I would also caution anyone on having one unusual house in a residential street of similar houses. In my opinion this house would benefit from moving the garage and front door forward (presumably reclaiming some space at the back) and making the front door less subservient to the main house. I think there should be some soft planting near the house too....See MoreGarden - child friendly ideas
Comments (6)I think you have a nice little garden and it is not too big to keep an eye on little ones playing. Firstly make sure your gate and fence at the end is secure...speaking from experience! Both my boys managed to get out and run away when small... I too would keep / renovate the decking (you can get some good decking paint these days that would make it look like new) making sure there are no splintered areas. It would be nice to park the pram in the shade for baby's sleep for now, maybe consider adding a sandpit to the side opposite the flower bed later on? Kids always love that. I would also repaint the walls all round, train some nice rose bushes or climbing plants up the wall from your raised bed. Alternatively use this to grow food, kids love helping with this. Then I would do a grass area, just a few strips of turf would do, in the middle, to soften it up and provide more interest and texture. Then perhaps a path down to the back gate and keep a couple of paving slabs by the gate for ease of access. You could even use wildflower turf rather than grass! Doesn't need mowing, just strimming back once a year, plus it provides easy flowers that will grow and self seed on any soil and pollinators love it! Lastly, its hard to see in picture if that is a shed at the bottom by the gate? If it is, keep it, you will need somewhere to store kids garden toys in the future, believe me!! Hope this helps x...See MoreIdeas welcome for dressing room design
