How best to care (longterm) for Solid Oak cabinets.

Hi I'm in the process of having a complete solid oak kitchen fitted, the cabinetry is lacquered solid oak, the counters are oiled oak butcher block, doors are painted.

I really need to know how best to protect my cabinets from damage. I have bought ikea's plastic shelf liners because I wanted to protect the oak and lacquer from scuffing and leakages, but will these cause a bigger problem over time? i.e; sweating, trapping moisture warping the wood etc?

Any advice from anyone who has experience with solid wood kitchens and can give guidance on long-term care for solid oak kitchens would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation of a reply
Anna.
