Please help with rug and furniture decisions....
Comments (71)Hi Pannacotta, I think the etsy one may be unique rug store, they overdye vintage rugs. I really like the rug from westelm, will it be too modern though if you didn't like the JL striped one? What do you think of their Cadiz one? I can't decide if I like it! Try both of these links from ebay, you may like a couple, they're over budget if you go for the new size but under if you go for 2x3 http://stores.ebay.co.uk/rugmartoutlet/_i.html?_nkw=Faded+vintage+retro&rt=nc&_pgn=1&_ipg=48 http://stores.ebay.co.uk/rugmartoutlet/Modern-Patchwork-Rugs-/_i.html?_fsub=7903057012...See MorePuppy proof rug
Comments (35)Hi, I love this room and Hague Blue is one of my favourites! I would suggest a flat weave rug for this space. Flat weaves tend to be easier to clean as the dirt doesn't as easily get into the fibers, and they don't pull by little paws so easily. They have worked really well in my own home with three small children (and two dogs we often dog sit)! With regards to flat weave/dhurries there are lots of options. Safavieh has some great dhurrie rugs at a reasonable price point on Wayfair, so that might be worth exploring. West Elm has some wonderful kilim style rugs that would suit your modern space quite well too, and I believe many are on sale at the moment. Another suggestion might be a natural fiber rug like a jute with a cotton border which can be ordered online by the sq ft very easily. Both the internal rug and the outer border come in a variety of shades and materials to suit your budget and taste. A final suggestion would be to look at some indoor/outdoor options which are made from a really soft plastic (many you wouldn't even know are plastic) and can literally be hosed off in the garden. Check out Dash and Albert. Otherwise, have the white vinegar ready and enjoy your puppy! Hope this was helpful!...See MoreI think I've given up - Living Room v Man
Comments (27)We may not share artistic values but we do share one good thing... love and our life together - he's simply your typical man who loves to lounge around even when covered in dirt! We may have completely different ideas for our home but he is a good egg :) Anyway I do believe we have found common ground... surprisingly he really likes my idea of using grey with bright colours. We have agreed that as long as I stop forcing him to endure flamingos or similar, he will put up with me buying vintage and completely unnecessary furniture. He's said I can do whatever I want with those awful armchairs... WIN! I think we are going with man friendly greys meets pops of colour/vintage. It's pay day next week and I simply can't wait any longer!! Having said that... some ideas for what style of vintage and arrangements will be wonderful! Here is the photo from my kitchen door - anything attached to the walls were already there from the previous residents and will be removed... such as the mirror which isn't in line with that hideous folding table and the strange religious wall in the corner.... plus the half finished wallpaper on the chimney breast lol. x...See MoreLiving Room Furniture Dilemma & Decor
Comments (8)I think I prefer the Ikea sofa as the Next one looks a little bulky for the room, washable covers also sound good. I do prefer the Ikea sofa I added but yours should work too, they're identical except for the arms. I also think they work well with the chairs, a different style is good. Just personal opinion but again for me if you're going industrial I would go for a wood floor and it adds so much warmth to a room, LVT may be a softer option? (Last try I promise!). Not sure if you like any of this? I didn't find cushions to match just in case you hate this one and it takes a while looking! It's impossible to choose art for somebody but you may like these. Junique and desenio are also good for affordable prints. Neon signs are also a good way to personalise a room if that's your thing i would add lots of texture for accessories, I think you need to get the furniture agreed first though. I would go for a light neutral for the walls. Need to know which way the room faces and you could work with any undertone in the navy paint...See MoreVictoria
