Dilemma - need ideas for old hot water cupboard/wardrobe
Comments (6)Thank you ok this is what I think you may be able to do, If the platform can be removed the use this side (the widest side for two hanging rails one above the other approx 1 metre in between, On the narrow side, left of door, use this space to create shelving floor to ceiling this can follow along the back wall opposite the door with a supporting side to hold them. This gives double the hanging space and loads of shelf storage for bedding and the things already stored. The hanging side will only take up approx 600 mm depth from wall so you will also have space to store any freestanding tall items that will not fit on the shelves. Shelves could be spaced at 300 mm apart depending on what you need to store. Hope this helps....See MoreWardrobe door ideas - please help I’m stuck
Comments (12)Yes I did look at these as would have gone for something like that for sure if I could only find a contemporary version that wasn’t frosted glass - if anyone has seen any please do shout! emily, a carpenter friend of ours suggested Louvre doors - it maybe an option. I think I’m so hung up on the nice grey glossy sliding wardrobe doors I wanted that anything else isn’t matching up! If only I could get a grey glossy door in that barn style the previous person posted about I’d be a happy bunny! Thanks ever so much for taking the time to give your ideas...See Morebuilt in wardrobe ideas please

Comments (15)What you currently have is an aperture with doors on the front and a rail inside. You could replace the doors with your sliding door option but there is a cost implication. I have just tried to illustrate that there are cost effective options too- if it were me I would prioritise my spending on great quality tradespeople in order to get in faster and have a better finish. I would then make sure that floors, doors and the kitchen are good. Then I would buy a really good bed because you spend more time in bed than on the sofa. And then things like wardrobes can be bought inexpensively and upgraded later if you later have the money....See MoreUser
