Had a disaster with seat cushion on one of my 6 month old sofas.

Bought two beautiful cream linen sofas 6 months ago. I needed to have the seat cushions recovered on the lager sofa, got in touch with the company who made them for us only to be told that the fabric has been discontinued. I will now have to have the larger sofa recovered but i don't know if i should try to match fabric as near as possible to smaller sofa or would it be better to go for a contrast colour.

Cream linen, you’re brave! Depending on your decor, how about choosing a darker fabric such as navy, charcoal grey or teal?

Matching fabrics is not always successful.

How about getting a complementary colour and fabric on the seat covers and having a couple of cushions made to use on the other sofa? Alternatively get all the seat cushions on both sofas done to match in the new complementary fabric.

Well, maybe when the kitchen stuff is out you can try different options (ones you want to try) in the wardrobe area and see what you like best. (Actually, there isn't that much stuff next to wardrobe.....up to you, though. Hmmmm. In the meantime, I think you could look for hardware for the cabinets and something for the end of the bed that isn't green.

I really like the idea of G plan round table. Hi Jen P we used to have it like that but I wasn’t keen on the fact it blocked the entryway to an extent and you had to walk around it. (felt uninviting)We found ourself dumping a lot of stuff behind the black sofa so you can see it’s against the wall for now alongside the buggy( however we may move the buggy to the 2nd bedroom). Behind the entryway is a awkward nook with some shelving (with more junk we need to sort out, paperwork,books etc)we are thinking about turning into a small office...

Even if the fabric is discontinued could it not be possible to source it yourself? If the sofa company can no longer get it then would they still make a replacement if you were able to find it?

I had a similar issue years ago. Luckily the old fabric swatches were still available in showrooms across the country despite being discontinued..... and they were big enough samples that a few of them were enough to replace some cushion covers.
