Comments (11)Hi thank you all so much. The sofa covers are removable but the replacements are pretty much the price of a new sofa and I'm stuck with the sofa because a family member gave us it so it's more to not hurt their feelings. Never really thought of dying them. I thought about possible lifting the skirt of the sofa as the sofa it's self has black wood legs and risen off the ground. I do like the idea of some eccentric colours to match. I don't think I could swap the sofa and chair and there is a door behind the chair. I will try to take a pic from another angle. The other wall basically has a to in the corner next to fire and then another door and a blank wall space. I'm not attached to any furniture in this room either so new white furniture would be nice. I was thinking black to match the fire but that may be too dramatic as the room is a ok size but not massive. X...See MoreHELP! How can I make this grey sofa work in this room!
Comments (16)I'd go for raspberry & pink, not as harsh as red, but definitely warming. I'd be very tempted if you go for the darker curtains, to go for the same colour rug, just for a bit of unity. However, if you then put a wooden coffee table on the rug, the wood will warm it up. All the pinks above will go with any grey, Different texture cushions in paler colours will help soften the look. This rug and coffee table go well with the whole theme, softens it down, and although grey tones, when mixed in with the soft accessories, cushions, vases, curtain ties etc will look really cosy. Comments (6)For your information, F&B Skimming stone has a Lightness of 85.25 (out of a 100). A Chroma of 6.154, which indicates it is a near neutral. And a Hue Angle of 88.21° So it sits close to the centre of the Yellow Hue Family. Useful if you need to partner it with other near neutrals or even more colourful colours. You can use the geometry of the Wheel to create harmonies. Were you to find that Skimming Stone felt a little to yellow next to your pinkish brick, the strategy would be to find something with a similar Lightness & Chroma, but move the Hue Angle anti-clockwise nearer towards the Yellow-Red Hue Family. But I hope your colour dilemma works out fine & this is knowledge to tuck away until you need it again. 🌈...See MoreColour Scheme in a Bright Bedroom
Comments (4)in that case, i'd go light on the walls and probably try to match the upper wall with the wardrobe and trim mint green / light turquoise ( http://inspiration.farrow-ball.com/itemdetails.aspx?id=26849) paint the desk light grey ( https://www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/dimpse) and add cute pulls i'd also hang a shelf above the bed and style it with amthyst rock, plants, small mirror, framed art. and i's also add astring of fairy lights above the desk or the bed. so the whole scheme would be: pale mint green / aqua / turquiose on the walls and curtains (or just a roman blind), green/grey desk and purple / amethyst / pink / gold accents in the accessories. with white and gold accents...See Moredd dd
