Condensation in hallway

Hi, we have a slight condensation problem in our hallway and we are wondering if wallrock thermal paper would work.

Depends what is causing the condensation

You need to find out what’s causing the condensation first. There’s no use just trying to cover it up and hide it. If there’s a problem you need to sort it.

I have always bought wrecks - I love renovating: and I completely agree with overpaying for a new renovation that is rubbish and soulless: I won't even view a house that has obviously been done up by one of the many "property developers" that infest London. I can cope with anything (have rectified asbestos, removed wood chip, put back period features and replaced everything from roof to digging up a floor to install underfloor heating in the past), but my absolute nos: dodgy neighbours/road, lack of off-street parking (London), a floor plan I can do nothing with, lack of potential to add value myself. I have seen (and met) some real horrors whilst looking for houses! Also, I have to have a period house: 1930s or older.

Stephen Edwards makes a really good point about the thermostat, and it works both ways (ie causing the heating to come on when you don't need it, as well as going off when you do!). Thermostats are often placed in the hallway, which can be colder than the rest of the house by cold air coming in through a draughty front door. It sounds like you have systemic problems to solve, but once those are sorted out you could look at draughtproofing, paying particular attention to anywhere that affects the thermostat. If you identify your letterbox as draughty you could look at fitting one of our letterbox solutions (we do a lovely stainless steel front letterplate as well as an inner letter box draught excluder), and if you have a pet that's going in and out through a draughty, rattly old catflap we do a pet door too. You should go with whatever suits your preferred way of working. If you have room for side by side with a work surface above and you like to fold in situ then go with that. Otherwise, stacked is very space efficient. Have you thought about the proximity to where and how any hand washing will be done? Will you be using the sink in the shower room. If so will it be big enough? Whatever you choose I would recommend having a dryer where the condensate drains via a hose into the washing machine outlet. No more emptying the reservoir or finding the dryer has stopped mid cycle cos it's full!

Thanks Minnie. We will have to putbyhe bath down The left hand side if we do shower over bath because there is not enough tiling space where the window is. The previous owners tried this by the look of it and realised that water just covers the window sill and window! The bath would have to be a footed shower over one or i think a panel on the bath?? So if we panel it would be half way up the wall.
