I have an inset glass brick wall between my kitchen and living room - Victorian terrace to steal light - what can I replace it with to update

Not sure what your budget is, but Crittall style windows are very trendy at the moment. Something like this

Glass bricks were created for the shower area, great idea. Will defo give it a contemp feel with lots of light.. Go ahead and use them. I've had them installed for a shower wall and look fab, sorry no pics!!

Hi. I can't find bookcases but just another idea. You could have a narrow console table with decorative items on top and then add a couple of ceramic garden stools and dot plants on the floor and from the ceiling. I can only find this image from cheapdecorideas which is similar to what I mean but obviously this is a big room. Alternatively there are lots of narrow benches around.

Firstly I think you have to be really sure that you can create an entrance to the bathroom through the former wardrobe- start by carefully measuring to work out if the opening at the back of the wardrobe is at least door sized. Then you need to consider how easy it is for a builder (is it a thick supporting wall) and if you will get permission from the freehold administrators. Next you have to decide which bedroom you want- and in my opinion give that the best bathroom and a shower room for the other one. Next you need to look at the plan to work out where the existing pipe work is as this will dictate what is possible. Lastly you need to be clear about what budget is available as I think this will dictate the quality of fixtures.

being a big fan of all things rustic , I would say not only leave brick but go 1 step more and make that brick wall as bold as it can be. bring back it's original brown appeal or even paint it that rustic bold brown that any brick decor deserves. that said, some pics wouldve helped a lot here because sometimes going old isn't always the best option hah

what Sonia says is good if that's what you have the budget for and you still want the light. if the lights not needed then a cheaper quick option to patch the wall up would be to plasterboard up the window and make it as though it was never there...
ORRRR.. you could remove the window? and make it another walkway entrance to the kitchen area? if you take the kitchen door off too then there could just be a pillar bit in the middle

We do need the light but also want to close off the kitchen from the living area so walkway through wouldn’t work - also supporting wall for back of three storey house

Personally I would close that up, and make the doors wider and make a feature of them.
