Two-way swing kitchen cabinet door

Hello, we inherited the old, DIY kitchen from the previous owners and will have to live with it for now. I am slowly beautifying it and need to remove the cabinet doors, but they aren't on the hinges! There is no way to access the pins from above or underneath the cabinets. Has anyone dealt with the similar type? Thanks

Do they not unscrew from the plate on the top of the door?

Hi Alan, we used the same doors from for our little study. After the decorator had painted them & we removed the protective film from the glass we saw that the paint had bled into the inner frame. Unfortunately there is no way to remove the glass to paint the inner frame so that section will always remain untreated & ours looks worse because of the paint bleeding. Such a shame because from afar the doors look great....just don’t inspect them too closely! When we queried it with the decorator he said the film was there to protect painting errors whereas the big shed said it was there solely to protect the glass & that the decorator had used too much paint on the brush. Argh....

Hi Michelle, having different colours can be a good way to add interest . But also consider different finishes (matt & gloss) or textures (wood) on your kitchen cabinets . One block of colour can work well, but combining different elements of texture really adds another dimension to a space. Depending on the finishes used, you can add warmth and character. Using a pale wood in conjunction with a darker matt or gloss door can be really effective. Kind Regards, The GKD team

Oh no :-/ .... it will be so worth it once you have got it through the window though, it is gorgeous! I'll take a look at the website now - thanks..... if it's any consolation I once bought a sofa that just would not fit into the house. We got it in in the end but it involved getting a very talented upholsterer to take a saw (I felt sick) to my brand new sofa and then re-build it as good as new in the room...phew :-)

I’ve tried local companies aswell as those main stream with no luck. Have contacted the company recommended by Minnie101 - fingers crossed as they have a similar damaged before and after photo. Jonathan, yes, one idea was to replace these two doors I thought about going aqua to match the splash backs in the photo.

Sometimes if it’s a screw the screw head deteriorates over time making it difficult to get them out. Well done.
