Dining room furnishing dilemma: Gray style or White style

Which kind of style do you prefer for your dining room, Gray or White?

This is an example for Gray style dining room wiith gray upholstered dining chairs, gray wall, gray carpet......

The following is an example for White style dining room wiith white upholstered dining chairs, white dining table, white curtain......

I know grey is the in colour but don't you think that it makes the room look cold? i prefer the other picture as it looks light and airy

Hi Michael, Sorry, but I have to partially disagree with you on this, daylight colour temperature is 6500K not 4000K. Yes, 4000K is warmer than 6500K but it does not give a truer representation of colour. Colour representation is measured using the colour rendering index or CRI. The closer to 100, the closer to daylight. The Megaman LEDs are 80 CRI for each of the colour temperatures. That said, the 4000K fitting will produce a brighter and cleaner feel to the room. However, it can look too harsh at night. 2700K is closer to traditional halogen fittings. It can look duller during the day, but looks a lot more welcoming in the evening - perfect for a soak in the bath. It comes down to personal preference in the end

They are nice however I'm not sure about yellow although the Indian yellow is quite nice and may look for yellowy greens. Minnie the lounge like the dining room is work in progress. Honey oak floors with plantation shutters and a fire which we are waiting to be installed. This will be a stone surround with pebble fire. The furniture is a 2 & 3 leather sofa with oak sideboard & unit. Again not sure of colours to bring together although I'm thinking a strong feature wall colour of teal or red; possibly wallpaper. Also loving a crystal light collection from John Lewis.

The kitchen looks lovely. I like the table and it works well with the lights and I'd put the eames chairs with it or a mix of chairs (an old church chair is good for keeping kids colouring in stuff in but not sure of their age! ) What wood were you looking at? However having said that, your table is butt against the bar and the legs on this table are wider than the top so if you went for this one I think you'd need to go for a short table. As kikiamack said pedestal tables are good although hard to find a rectangular one (!) or as colourhappy said an old farmhouse one would work. Would an extending table also be an option? How many do you need to seat on a regular basis? Are the lights centred over the bench?
