To extend out (side extension) or to knock through indoors?

Plan A
Plan B
Neither
We are looking to increase the size of our kitchen. My biggest dilemma is:
Should we use the drive to extend outwards
Should we reconfigure internally
(Which would cost less or do people know roughly what a cost would be, south wales)
As we dont use the garage for storing vehicles im happy to push outwards instead of disrupting all the interior of the house.
I have knocked up some rough plans so its easier to try and visualise what it could look like.
Plan A shows pushing out into drive keeping existing kitchen layout (to be renewed) but having enough space for dining table and more worktop/storage.
This would be a single story pitched roof with skylights
Plan B shows taking out internal wall and putting up wall to split up the living room with different kitchen layout
Opening this up to you for views / ideas.
