What make is this piece of furniture ?

We have had this set of pull through drawers for over 20 years. Dark solid oak and still in excellent condition. We would like to get some other pieces in the same dark oak style and same make/manufacture (we rather like the knots and natural look) if it is possible. The problem is that we have no idea of the make as there is no label/stamp and despite extensive google we cannot find it. We 'think' it was from Courts but of course they no longer exist.

If anyone has any idea of make/manufacturer/something identical then any information would be appreciated.

I can’t help with the brand, but I have seen similar at Oak Furnitureland, but they’re not open at the moment of course. I have a similar piece bought from a lovely furniture shop in Stevenage about 5 years ago, but unfortunately they have closed down.

Thanks Sonia, it was a vague hope but once things are "normal ?" again then we will be touring the furniture shops to see what we can spot.

I love the colour of the furniture, but I would definitely find some new handles for them. Maybe something in lilac? Like a cut glass, or something ceramic and pretty. Look at Laura Ashley for inspiration but you can find cheaper versions, and usually just as well made, elsewhere. Match the wardrobe to the chest of drawers more and make them look even more refined. Also maybe put something above the wardrobe, like a trunk or something fitting to the room, to fill the space. Love how this looks already though, not much more and it'll be perfect.

Hello Catherine White Interiors, For me it's not so much the bed as the mattress.. I have a case of the "Princess and the Pea" Syndrome (but only in January to March) When the mattress facing that particular way up (according to instructions) has a collection of annoying springs that dig into my side! Said bed came from Lombok who replaced the first with the second which both turned out to be as bad as each other! Moral of the story (given the Hans Christian Anderson element) is never buy the frame and the mattress that comes with it! Instead go forth and Vispring! : ))

Mum always says.... - Only take out a mortgage that you can afford to pay on one wage (in case of redundancy/pregnancy etc). - You soon lose weight when you’re ill so eat how you want to until that day! I would class that colour as more of a medium oak as opposed to dark oak.

You have to remember that timber is a natural product and whichever piece of timber is being used for production will look different. Some will have more knots than others. No two pieces are the same so although you prefer to knots and wanting similar you will just have to look for a piece of furniture that you like and see which individual piece looks the best to you.

Also bear in mind that if you’ve had the existing furniture 20+ years the colour will have darkened with age naturally.

If you want to have matching furniture the only way is to buy a matching set that were manufactured at the same time. So you might have to replace this piece with something new or consider having furniture that is a close match- which is fine too.
