kitchen colour dilemma
I am looking to renovate my kitchen. I really like the luxurious look of bold solid colours, atleast in photos . However I am feeling nervous about how they will look in real life. Will it make my space look small or too dark? My open plan is 8 x 5 m. I was interested in Coffee colour cabinets with maybe brass trim (very dull goldish colour not sure if it's brass or nickel ). Should I go all out same solid colour(photo1) or break it with a white island(photo2)? Or play it safe and go with predominantly white with coffee island(photo3)? Any suggestions please? Have to think about the flooring also accordingly.

Comments (8)Why not have a go with the dulux colour visualiser app to give yourself an idea of how it will look? Personally I think it would look good with colour on the walls, you don't actually have much wall showing in the kitchen area. You could always choose one wall to paint, just to dip your toe in to see if you can go the whole hog. 3 years agowhat would be the best way to inject warmth----- through dark units and plain tile or dark/ white units and wood effect tiles? Don't want it to look either too bland or too overwhelming. Photos before were with plain tiles, these ones are with wood flooring. I will be using tiles (plain or wood effect) because of UFH, though I feel wood effect tiles do not look as good as engineered wood .

3 years agoOn Kirsty & Phil’s Love it or List it last night, the clients installed a dark kitchen but the island was white. It looked fabulous. I’ve never seen it done that way.
As to the floor, I think wood effect porcelain is very smart and easy to keep clean but it can be chilly so under floor heating is advisable. It can be laid in a herringbone pattern if you wish.
