exterior of my house

U need some advice on what to do to the front of my house as I think I may have ruined the aesthetics by implementing the wrong design features as I think it now just looks odd any advice greatly appreciated

Under the cladding is brickwork and I extended the right hand side of porch closer to window so it matched the left side of the porch was wondering if I should take cladding off and just render bottom half of the house and get the windows sprayed to match front door and garage

A very handsome house! - It's not so much the roof you have to worry about matching colours to, it's the red brick, as not soo many go with that. It's a big area to be painted, so you have to be sure it's going to look right. I'd probably err on the side of not painting it anything other than white and changing the window colour instead. Google colour bonding - it colours UPVC windows pretty much any colour and is a fraction of the cost of replacing windows. The front of our house is 'tyrolene'd' but the rest is red brick. We went for a sage colour. I'd be inclined to stick with the white, or render the whole house and paint one colour with possibly a slight shade change for the darker at the bottom. The downpipes need addressing on the gutter as they're a messy set up and spoil the facade. Try using the Dulux Paint a room:- https://www.dulux.ca/diy/colour/colour-visualizer it's a handy tool!

Definitely agree with Design7, the added bonus with fibre cement cladding are: - no maintenance (unlike timber weatherboarding or painting render) - insulation can be added between existing render and fibre cement cladding - an almost instant improvement by adding texture to a very flat facade The risk you face by going with a bold colour over the whole rendered front of your house is that being such a flat and (no offence) uninspiring property, you will only make the situation a lot worse. By adding the texture to the first floor, you can then go bold underneath should you wish to. The other option that no one has suggested yet, will depend on the construction of your house (might be concrete blocks rather than brickwork) and if you do have to strip off the render and start again, it might be worth seeing if you have desirable brickwork beneath it. If so you can either acid strip the brickwork to clean it off or paint the bricks. I would suggest stripping the render off the ground floor and either going for a rendering or cladding to the first floor. I can imagine for a contemporary look, off white with grey Windows and doors, or for a softer cottage style go for a pale cream and mushroom/taupe Windows and doors.

Dark brick, dark tiles, dark windows - it all flows together so that's the problem. You don't have much walling that you could render (on going maintenance issue anyway) and again cladding would not help. If the windows are timber you could paint them white and add brighter coloured garage doors, that could help, If not then maybe white/coloured upvc windows?
