Please I need your advice on how to update a "yellowish" kitchen?
Comments (16)I was going to suggest to change the cabinets doors/handles and the plinths ? and keep the carcass, for the island replace or add on a side end panels matching the doors as it does in the picture? lets hang that out of the window for now but don t let go until your positive that you don t want it? firstly , the floors , if your planning to change just the tiles so it keeps the kitchen separated from the dinner/living ? brown wood style porcelain tile or going through out with the brown tiles For the walls Farrow & Ball ,Cooking Apple Green xxx it seems ,You have a backdated ? cooker/oven,extractor fan, microwave, fridge , it does remind me off some thing from Back To The Future , THEY NEED TO GO,stain less steel all the way Mosaic tiles, brown with a mix colours, above the kitchen work top upstands , or you can continue the paint for the walls i can t see the sink ,is it white?, probably you will need to up date it as well ? stainless steel and a its wise to get a deep base...See MoreKitchen Island Help Please
Comments (17)I wouldnt have a hob or sink in mine, and don't plan to when we do the kitchen next year. I want the island to be a sociable space so anything like a sink or hob would just be in the way. I rarely cook at the hob much, in fact the only time I use hob is to heat up tin of soup or baked beans! Even then that could get done in microwave!! I use the oven a lot. So, I certainly wouldnt be at hob cooking for entertaining! Sink, I think sinks should be next to dishwasher - out of the way. However if you are stuck for space elsewhere then I guess I would be open to putting appliance on the island....See MoreCan I see your islands please?
Comments (32)Just another thought...if you are tall go for a counter 950mm from the floor ( or whatever works for your back ) im 5ft 7 ish and that's how tall my cabinets are ( we have 100mm high benches, so that gives extra height..not just the feet on the cabinets ) You don't want to be bending at the wrong height all day Not comfortable....See MoreSmall kitchen island design advice please, two-tone or single
Comments (8)Normally i think islands in a small room work better if they’re in the same colour. Personally I prefer Matt and think shaker style would work. The kitchen will probably look bigger minus handles but I think shaker handleless are more expensive but might be wrong. You could have discreet handles anyway. Have you considered an induction hob? It’s sleeker and will give you more worktops space when not in use. It also looks as if you could have a deeper than normal worktop on the back run (more storage space)? i added some tiles for texture but you may hate the colour (Apologies for the bad photoshop!)...See MoreRuth House
