Advice on colour schemes for our new kitchen please
Has anyone gone for a similar two-tone kitchen to these units? (these are just sample doors; we're getting our kitchen fitted next week. So the shaker door - our wall units - is not actually shaker style and a little lighter shade to the photo and the other one - base units and island - is a bit darker than that. I had to use my flash to take photos!).
I would love to see some photos if so, as I'd like some ideas on what to paint the walls.
Should we go with a lighter grey to the light grey shaker wall units, which would have to be almost off-white as we needed to go lighter because the kitchen is in the shadier part of the kitchen.
I was thinking of painting opposite ends of the extension (very sunny part of the kitchen where the dining table and living space will be) with a bold dark colour - ie Sapphire Salute in the Dulux range as an accent colour, or if we decided to go monochrome find a metallic or glittery dark grey.
I would really appreciate any thoughts/photos to help me decide. TIA.

Comments (7)Hi Lucy. The kitchen looks quite a grey blue on my screen. I would go for a copper kettle and toaster. Also brighten the worktop by adding potted herbs and some wooden boards. I would then look at shades of orange, coral, terracotta or blush for either chairs or cushions for the chairs. I think an orangey tan leather would also work as would a copper chair. I might go for a sisal rug to add some texture and lighten the floor a little, you can get ones with both honey and grey tones in or instead add pattern (depending on chair choice). Comments (16)I will have to have a look at the paint samples again as can’t remember all the tones. I’m sure we had Cornforth on our interior doors and it was a lilac tone grey in some lights? Anyone back that up? Nice colour but have to be careful what you pair it with. I don’t personally think you have to match your kitchen to your woodwork colour in the adjacent room unless you really like the colour and had envisaged it for your units? Re the finish. At least if you get them sprayed up locally, you can always pop a door over to get done which is cheaper than having to buy a new door via the kitchen company.
