My completely inexperienced contractor installed the floors over existing 50 year old asbestos vinyl. We used the Atrafloor cold weld. The seam is almost invisible and the product is water tight. Your installers are using old technology and old methods. It is very usable for a home installation. Mine have been down about 3 months old and look great. My installer also made a small measuring mistake and I ended up with a 2nd seam, but it is not noticeable at all. You cannot use the type of adhesive sold in USA it is old fashioned and old technology. Mine was not stiff at all, but I did keep it inside the house to acclimatize before installation. Comments (16)I will have to have a look at the paint samples again as can’t remember all the tones. I’m sure we had Cornforth on our interior doors and it was a lilac tone grey in some lights? Anyone back that up? Nice colour but have to be careful what you pair it with. I don’t personally think you have to match your kitchen to your woodwork colour in the adjacent room unless you really like the colour and had envisaged it for your units? Re the finish. At least if you get them sprayed up locally, you can always pop a door over to get done which is cheaper than having to buy a new door via the kitchen company. That’s the only reason I wanted to paint my own units ie because it’s so hard to touch up sprayed units as they just don’t blend in the same....See Morewould anyone have some ideas on what I can do with this space?
Comments (30)Yes safety first, but just to be clear, I wasn't recommending a piece able to be climbed on against the handrail. Not only for the safety aspect but because I wouldn't like to look at the side of it through the spindles coming up the stairs. Comments (8)Mid century colours tend to be quite bold, like your lovely light. I was around then and there was a lot of orange, brown and olive green! I wonder if a simple off white (there are hundreds!) on the walls and then introduce more mid century colours in cushions and artwork, maybe? Also some lovely dining chairs in an olive green velvet (unless you have little ones then I’d go for leather or faux leather!)....See More
