kitchen colour scheme

Hello

Just had a kitchen design draft drawn up for oak/light oak, white and very dark grey. Not sure they all go together? I think the light oak is throwing it off but that’s my favourite part. Any other colour suggestions to tie it all in?

Seen that combo with plain white and looked fab as they'd added colourful kettle and mixer etc . Seen also with chartreuse... They liked it ? I think it could grow on me - but the love wasn't instant ! Also, in an extremely light room,with expresso brown walls !!! Looked amazeballs but was a massive light filled room ! Why not snap a pic and try different colours with the crown or dulux apps ? They are really easy to use !! Have fun !

Hi, I think a lighter colour on the walls with units will allow the units to feature as opposed to the walls therfore acting as a backdrop. Using a warm toned colour will prevent the room looking stark. I would then add interest by painting the larger wall opposite the island in a feature, deeper colour, or you could even use a feature wallpaper to add depth to the room

Hi Helen, Quartz is a fantastic material with some beautiful options. However you should look at Corian as you get a seamless finish when you continue this up the walls as your splash back. This will be really practical for behind the sink. The best advise I can give you is to keep it all very simple, therefore when you place this property on the market the new owners will fall in love with it. I would use railings on your pantry doors to give a nice colour contrast. Hope this helps Alfred

The samples are lovely, you are on the right path. If you are undecided where to use the darkest colour, a helpful tip is that the darker colours are closer to the eye and come forward where the light colours recede back in the distance. Hello!
Sorry I was not allowed to take the design away with me yet at this stage. But it was white gloss top cupboards, dark grey floor cupboards and oak wood detailing- breakfast bar etc. The wood is my favourite part, so I’d compromise on the rest. (We don’t know about flooring yet).

It’s still early stages. It was more about the layout and now we’re starting on the colour scheme.

maybe it’s the gloss too? I’d swap for Matt personally. Have you just considered having the white and oak? Maybe with a warm concrete effect flooring for texture?

Agree with Minnie, I would try to keep to white and oak in the kitchen. There are lots of possibilities with floor tiles in terms of greys that emulate concrete (which actually has a warm yellowish tinge), I wouldn't personally opt for grey units.

Was thinking maybe navy and wood, as option.

Also like the idea of white wood and concrete style flooring

How much natural light does it get? There is nothing boring about white and wood, it's classic and stylish. One way of thinking about it is this, colour is just one way to add interest to a room, but saturated colour dominates. Another way is to add depth with texture and this requires the colour palette to be a bit more muted. Off white, beiges (stone colours) and charcoal colours can look really timeless.
