how do I go about measuring up to be able to get a quote for units

I want to be able to install a fitted wardrobe for under eave in our attic conversion what type units are available and the sizes/angle to fit under slopping area so I can measure up and get a quote please

The frames look kind of squished on some of the shelves, but don't worry about that now. I'm not a big fan of stuff on the top of the tall unit nor how much you have on top of the short unit. I think if you remove the things from the top of the taller one, you'll like it much better. Then, put only one or three things on each shelf, and layer some. For example: put a couple of candles in front of a framed photo -- give it some depth. The shelf unit is dark, so you might want to keep your ornaments, etc. a lighter colour.

I use a program called pipette, https://www.sttmedia.com/pipette-download and you can find the colour composition of any image ie rgb, cmy etc, its also the true colour of the image and not how your screen presents it. Obviously with a photo this won't be the actual colour and also with a photo the colour changes in different parts of the photo. You could then download colour charts and use pipette to see which colour is closest to the photo results or do a search on line for the #hex colour, you can try encycolorpedia.com and that gives you a list of paints that are close to it.

Thanks Jonathan, good to hear that our budget doesn't sound way off! We know we're in a pricier part of the country, but have been shocked at the quotes received so far. I didn't think our design was that elaborate! We have one steel where we are opening up the back of the house to push the kitchen out, plus a vaulted ceiling there with a couple of Velux windows. Our plan includes a couple of new french doors, but not bifolds or anything, so no major glazing costs. One things that could push costs up is our extension roof as its a slightly odd design (flattened a bit at the apex) due to jobsworth planning officer. We were also hoping to have it vaulted with one Velux, so there may be costs there with insulation, wiring, beams etc, although the engineer didn't think a ridge steel was necessary. There are no major plot limitations or access issues. We do need our existing tandem garage demolishing, plus removal of possible asbestos roof and moving the manhole to the new side passage. We also know that one corner of our new kitchen will need deeper foundations due to our leylandii hedge (which we'll probably remove at some point anyway!) - we've already had a fruit tree removed so it didn't impact the other side of the foundations. We have also asked for under-floor heating in the kitchen and know that we'll need to move/replace our boiler and possibly have a new consumer unit. We also asked them to quote for a couple of "extra" bits, like replacing the existing ancient front windows to match new ones, refitting current family bathroom, and stripping out some ugly wood cladding in the hallway. So I guess there are some issues and extras there which we need to explore further..... but we thought we had allowed for some of them by setting our budget around £100k and holding £50k back for spec decisions and unforeseen bits and bobs. We will definitely be speaking to the first builder who quoted £155k ex kitchen and bathrooms, as his quote was the most thorough and we had a good feeling about him. I think perhaps there can be some further discussion with him around costings and where we could make savings (or put things off until a later date). We were keen to get all quotes in before entering discussions, but the remaining two are taking an age.......

There are ways of overcoming this issue if the right materials are available for your choice of manufacturer and the fitter has the requisite skills. I have attached a cad image of one solution. To answer your main query re: storage, the answer is as many deep pull-outs as you can manage and where the room shape allows, avoid corners! The main issue you have with this design is that it is unlikely to fit. If the corners of the room are not 90 degrees (which they never are) you will not necessarily have the 1840 dimension shown on the plan to fit in the tall units; without a tall filler beside the unit adjacent to the wall, there is no allowance for the walls to be out of plumb (upright), also there is no allowance for a corner post which is likely to lead to handles clashing. My suggestion would be to fit a narrow pull-out larder for maximum storage with a minimum 50 mm filler (preferably more). Increase both worktops to 650mm deep to allow for room discrepancies and the positioning of services behind units, with the added bonus of more worktop. If the hob is an induction model there shouldn't be a drawer underneath due to the cooling fan in the base of the hob, this could invalidate the warranty. We all want to fit in more than we can when planning our own rooms, it's human nature. A professional design might help to avoid costly errors at the point of installation and give you one design for multiple quotes instead of multiple quotes all with different designs.
