Narrow and small living/dining area dilemma!
Comments (9)Hi, What a lovely room! Love the windows and the ceiling height. I would go for a sofa and chair(s) on legs (swooneditions), so you can see the floor under it. Perhaps a wooden/LVT woodlook floor; herringbone or laid widthwise, both will make the room look wider. An eye catching chandelier (westelm) would be great. If you're brave, you could lay a rug widthwise, from under the sofa to the wall opposite. I'd probably go for a small round dining table (this one is 100 cm, John Lewis)...See MoreLiving room decoration dilemma

Comments (1)Hi there, What an exciting development to your home. Would you be looking for an interior designer to help with your plans? We are happy to discuss on here but would be great to be able to draw up plans for this project of yours. Adding on a new space can be tricky and we like to make sure (as much as possible) that the space looks like a natural extension of what is already there - this can be done by minimising nibs and adding joinery to cover any that are necessary to the build. Pocket doors are a great way of moving between spaces but you could also consider a jib door which blends into the wall when shut - this creates a much more open looking space without having lots of visible doorways. All the best, Marion...See MoreHelp needed with living room decoration
Comments (15)I'm going against the grain here and would stay with the lighter color, all round. I would suggest taking out the ladder shelf, hopefully you can use this elsewhere, and swap the chair to it's position. How about a floating shelf, or may be 2, above the PC's? For a few books and decorative items. Not all the way across, so some art can go at either end. The red of the rug is great to connect your areas, especially in the art at the PC end. Go with just a couple of pillows, again a red or ochre from the rug. If you feel more is needed, try a throw otherwise you might go into pillow overload! I would add looking for a lamp to come from behind the sofa, one would give you soft evening lighting....See MoreTani H-S
