How can we keep a bathroom and make an en suite with this space?

Hi,

We have two very narrow bedrooms on the end of our house. One we use as a study which is sufficient, but we'd like to rearrange the one next to the bathroom to create an en-suite double guest bedroom, whilst retaining a family bathroom if we can.

Within the cupboard shown on the plan is our water tank/airing cupboard.

Can anyone share any thoughts on what we could do here as all my sketching is looking rubbish, and I can't see the space objectively anymore? What would you do? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas?

We have been playing around with this today and this is the layout we think we will go with. Due to solid floors and walls if we move the loo we need significant boxing in. My app has limited selections of items but we will have sanitary ware in these locations, we think!

An ensuite to the master bedroom is a great asset in a family home, reducing the morning stampede to the family bathroom. It also helps create that sense of luxury, adult space. A sanctuary away from the rest of the family.

Hi Gina, How about if you use a back to wall pan - with cistern concealed in the right side wall - with basin under window - and have a shower valve etc on top wall with a small fixed panel and a pivoting main shower screen area to be opened when needed - but give feeling of more space when not needed .

I agree bring the wall forward into the bedroom. You don’t even have to take the existing wall down. Retain it as a divider between his and hers, though I would remove the door. A pocket door in the new wall into the dressing room would be better rather than having to shut the door behind you every time you need to get access your clothes. You might also squeeze a shallow full height cupboard in the shower room along the wall beside the toilet to store all your toiletries etc.
