Need help with echoes in my dining room and kitchen
Comments (16)The trouble with all these modern hard smooth surfaces and clean lines is you do get a great deal of reverberation and echoe whilst soft furnishing like curtains rugs and cushions will help to a degree the best thing you can do is get Acoustic panelling or padding you can get it in a form as a canvass and have your own picture photo or any digital print, so it wouldn't look out of place but would absorb the sound no one would ever know. There are several companies that can help you but take a look at http://www.soundservice.co.uk/prices_live.php#photosorptions their prices are reasonable and on the site so you have an immediate idea of cost implications. I hope this was helpful. Kind regards Barbara...See MoreHelp with my kitchen/dining room?
Comments (3)Hello there, You've good a nice space for a start. Navy blue will work very well as a feature wall. Rich colour adds depth and volume, in fact it will make your dining room will look bigger. Navy blue and white looks amazing, check one of my projects. I will suggest to paint navy blue around the window as it is the wall you see first you enter dining room and white window frame will add nice white contrast. It will not look too much and will make room look wider. Add some wall art, picture frames on a wall in front of double doors, to complement colour scheme. Go for white pendant light above dining table or Chrystal one. As for the kitchen, do you plan to change floor?...See MoreNeed help with my sitting room layout
Comments (9)Thank you all very much for your suggestions. The fireplace is basically to create a focal point in the room. I can't have a real fire or gas fire as there is no chimney. So the plan is to have an electric fire with dummy chimney breast. Marcin, Thank you for your comment. I agree with you I don't like the curtains either. We inherited them from the previous owners. So they definitely need changing. I'll be grateful to see a 3D model. Where is your email?...See MoreHelp with layout for chambre d'hote sitting room/dining room
Comments (3)It looks like the little kitchen area has now gone so I would create a booth style seating area in that space. The piano I would then put at an angle in the other nook facing into the room as a feature corner. The rest of the seating would then be in the main central area. I think ultimately this depends on the budget you now have to finish the room, whether lighting can be changed to incorporate some features and task lighting/pendants. Have you considered having a designer look at the space? I work remotely and include lighting, layout and accessorising in my PDF remote designs. As you already have the wall colour and flooring sorted this you would be surprised how affordable the price is :) best of luck. It's looking great so far....See Morelarney26
