front door - style/colour help!

Would like to replace the front door with something more contemporary but am struggling on colour/design.
We won’t be able to replace the garage door to match so do we need to stick to white?
There isn’t space to widen the doorway so we will be replacing like for like size-wise.
Would like a door with a glazing panel of some sort but just not sure black or graphite colour will work?

Comments (18)Hi Vkololgi We think a grey traditional door with narrow glazing bars would look great against your white rendering. It gives a slightly modern twist to the house without looking out of place and will let in lots of light. Comments (16)Thanks for all the advice offered I have been walking around and looking at front doors and taking onboard all the advice you have all given. Helen P - I am now reconsidering a Painswick coloured front door as all the houses that do not have white windows seem to look better if the front door colour matches the windows (in my opinion, from what I have seen). I will look at a modern Painswick door too. Sarah L - I like the horizontal lines on the front door, I'll probably use that as this will then match with our internal doors. Comments (16)My favourite colour is red, but, with a garage door, it gets a lot of battering from our changeable weather. Strong sunlight will fade red and rain, frost and snow will degrade the colour too. The dark blue looks lovely. If you think the blue garage door is a bit much how about a blue front door and white garage door? You can't go wrong with teal blue. Look at paint colours for old houses, you might find something you like. Charcoal grey is fashionable now. I've seen a reddish purple garage and door recently and it looks pretty smart. 3 years agoI think the whole door frontage area would look very smart with a new modern door and side panels. I rather like the pale grey below, but also the dark grey.
