F&B black blue vs off black kitchen units
Comments (115)Hello! It’s arrived but is being fitted Monday :0) The colour wasn’t quite what I wanted as although it’s not supposed to have any blue in it, if can look blue in some lights. I don’t mind it looking deep navy but sometimes it looks lighter. Will see when it’s all up though as with the worktop on the island and overhang, it will probably just look more black! Bear in mind the company didn’t use actually F&B paints as they mix their own. Definately advises paying for a test door first as they got the colour totally wrong at first (was bright blue!) and it was hard work getting the manufacturers to check it and do it again. They almost didn’t....See MoreWall colour to go with Pointing and Hague Blue kitchen units
Comments (8)Now I think you have a good point there. Choosing a deeper neutral sounds good. I’m a fan of colour and I have a Dulux minty green in my kitchen, F&B Cromarty in my sitting room, Dulux Egyptian Cotton in the bedroom and aqua in the other bedroom. All these shades are soft though so not garish, apart from a navy feature wall in kitchen. Dulux do some lovely neutral shades like Perfectly Taupe, Chic Shadow and Polished Pebble. Of course colours are affected by the light in the room and those sort of shades can look a bit grim in a dark north facing room. Comments (25)That's a very good question. I actually haven't been in there recently. The OH has been working from home since before lockdown and he isn't the tidiest of people, so I've left him pretty much to it. It's his space, if he makes it a tip, that's on him. However, as there appears to be enquiring minds wanting to know, I've just asked him how it looks and he's said it's okay (?) :-( ...............But we all know that a lot of blokes have a very different definition of okay to that of a female. He's disappointed with the Billys, as they're not quite up to snuff because he wasn't able to get the glass shelves during lockdown. So I've dispatched him to take some pictures, so we'll see....See MoreF&B paint colour for north facing study
Comments (11)I think it depends on what else you have in the room. My Mum has a north facing room with lots of yew furniture- she painted it Vardo and it look superb. Given it’s a study it likely there is not much wall showing and plenty of furniture so I say choose a colour that works for you rather than a neutral then break it up with plenty of pics. Separately I have always used Daiseys trick of getting Johnson’s to mix the Farrow and Ball Colour. I’m not sure you save that much but you do keep your decorator happy- I would add that during the pandemic the quality of the colour matching and the quality of the paint at Johnson’s has gone down. Right now I would buy the real Farrow and Ball paint....See MoreJackie Meija
