Colour for banisters - F&B
Comments (13)I would say you have 2 options: 1) paint as Pat says, but choose a nice dark matt colour, ( or I suppose White if that is you want, its a matter of personal preference), and handrail dyed and varnished MATT, or, stain / matt varnish the whole lot. Here, with discussion with client, and led by the client who wanted a low maintenance finish, the 300 yr old beams had been treated and left as natural, unfinished, and the new soft wood ( budget did not allow for oak or hardwood) was finished in stain and matt varnish - I thought it might not work, but the end result was pleasing to all and very very happy client. This expressed the new joiner from the older structural timber frame. What do you think?...See MoreColour matching for F&B Skimming Stone & Purbeck Stone.
Comments (28)Katie I think purbeck and skimming stone look ok next to each other, I have a hallway in skimming stone and a room off the hall in purbeck but I probably wouldn’t put them in the same room together. To my eye they have a different undertone. If ammonite is too blue maybe try strong white? Or paint the walls the same colour as the alcoves....See MoreF&B black blue vs off black kitchen units
Comments (115)Hello! It’s arrived but is being fitted Monday :0) The colour wasn’t quite what I wanted as although it’s not supposed to have any blue in it, if can look blue in some lights. I don’t mind it looking deep navy but sometimes it looks lighter. Will see when it’s all up though as with the worktop on the island and overhang, it will probably just look more black! Bear in mind the company didn’t use actually F&B paints as they mix their own. Definately advises paying for a test door first as they got the colour totally wrong at first (was bright blue!) and it was hard work getting the manufacturers to check it and do it again. They almost didn’t....See MoreWhat would you match F&B Skimming Stone with in a bedroom?
Comments (3)I have Skimming Stone on bedroom walls with taupe blinds and duck egg accessories - it works well. Lots of different colours look good with S Stone IMO.....See MoreJackie Meija
