in despair over bathroom tiles. Help

This is almost exact same as my bathroom and I'm suffocating in beige. I've decided to paint the tiles-(they couldn't end up worse. )
I've seen hundreds of bathroom images this week and I'm so confused as to what to do. if be eternally grateful for ANY input. Please and thank you.

Before you go ahead & paint the tiles, I’d consider other options first. You need to introduce more of another colour to break up the beige. For example, changing the floor would make a big difference as would changing or painting the vanity unit and mirror. Most bathrooms have quite a lot of white in the sanitary ware to tone them down whereas yours doesn’t. Using either white or a darker wood will help. Personally, I think a white vanity will help to freshen & modernise the look. For the floor, I’d consider a darker wood effect vinyl to break up the colour. If possible, several large plants would also be good - aiming for a spa-type feel.

I was going to say exactly the same as the above post.

It’s all the same colour and overload. Start by changing the 2 cabinet colours. Take it from there.

Update -- my plumber finally returned. Not sure what he did while here, but he told me again it wasn't working -- then he did some work on a radiator which had a small leak. We were having a long discussion about options on pumps, new showers, taps etc and I read out the installation guide and he tried it again, and suddenly it worked. It is bizarre as I don't know how many times i tried it previously. My friend who works in construction ALSO called earlier today and tried it several times to no avail. It must have been extremely stiff or perhaps the plumber realised some airlock whilst fixing the radiator since I think water pressure is much stronger since he went. Thanks for everyones help -- i learned lots on plumbing and a valuable lesson to take out the installation manuals myself and not trust that trades men know everything!!! I feel like celebrating!!

We've finally decided on a plan! We're having white metro tiles half way up the wall on all three walls apart from the towel rail wall (opposite the bath). Currently we have skirting all round the room. The thing we're stuck on is, do we tile all the wall to the floor and have the skirting removed, keeping skirting on the none tiled walls. Or keep the skirting all the way round. We're having the coving removed to help with the height issue and make the room feel taller (hopefully!). Also getting new flooring. I've included photos of the wall opposite the bath for reference. Let me know if you think any of our ideas will look silly though as I know you guys are so helpful and can visualise things better than me!

If you want something to not date (so much does!) then I would go classic. So simple tiles in white where they are needed, that is shower and behind basin, not all over. You could tile halfway in white, then paint above it any colour you wish. Paint is so easy to update and change, but tiling isn’t. Dark colours are very fashionable at the moment, so you could paint charcoal grey, navy, chocolate etc above the tiles, then when trends change, and they will, you will only need to re-paint the walls. Although classic greens and taupe never date. I love patterned floor tiles, but of course colours and patterns are a very personal thing. Do you have a favourite colour? Here are some ideas which you may like?

I agree with tamp75 there isn’t enough white to reduce the ‘beigeness’ paint the vanity rather than the tiles. If the budget allows change the floor to a white based tile. It’s easier/ cheaper to change the floor than the walls.

Great thanks. i don't actually have any cabinets in my bathroom so you see even more wall than in this photo. I'll definitely start there.
would a mat on the floor to hide it in the meantime be a ridiculous idea?

colour happy, I'm putting in a small sauna.. light coloured wood!! more beige!! kitchen is being renovated and with but working last year i can't afford a big job on bathroom yet. I'm putting in a bigger white shower tray.
Will take advice from the others and put in a white cabinet , plants and try do something with the floor in the meantime.
I've posted my bathroom before but got no response.

If you're putting in a big white shower tray, won't that require new glass shower walls and will that leave drilled holes where the old ones were?

the colour of the original post is closer to it in real life. it looks less yellow here. I'm taking out original tiny shower and tiny bath and taking out plinth. New shower will go where bath is but the shower head will be on the long wall. it's not tiled behind the bath.
I'm going to have to put a partition wall along side of shower to facilitate plumbing.
i bought tiles too match but from advice here, ill see if shop will swop them for white

update. i can't get a shower tray in the size needed so having to go with a walk in tiled floor instead.

this means instead of patching up existing tiles, i'm having to retile from the side of existing shower side.. the full height of the wall beside bath(new shower) and over and above sink. it's about half the bathroom so a chance to maybe change completely within what remaining tiles will allow. so, more confused than ever😭😭😭
