Help! What colour should I paint my kitchen?
Comments (11)I must admit I am scratching my head a bit on this one - the two slightly different shades of cream don't make it easy! If everything wasn't split new, I think I would be recommending changing the tiles. I'm not a fan of painting tiles either, but I am really at a loss as to what to suggest. A teal perhaps or verdigris, but I think whatever colour you pick, the tile/cabinet combination may still feel a little unbalanced. Might be worth thinking what you can do to mask the tiles with nicely coloured appliances, possibly an accessory rail, fruit bowl, plants/herbs etc....See MoreWhat colour should I paint these kitchen doors.
Comments (11)Your flooring and worktops are neutral, so pretty much anything will go. I think a sage green grey would look great like Farrow & Ball French Gray or more of the green with Lichen. If you want something more neutral, Farrow and Ball Hardwick White, stony Ground, Elephants Breath all great Colours or Little Greene Rolling Fog (which comes in different shades from pale to dark if you wanted to have different shades within the room). You could even go dark grey, blue, pretty much anything. What sort of feel do you want to create and which direction does the room face, how much light does the room get - these have a massive bearing on colour....See MoreStone stairs-any advice for cleaning them up or should I just carpet?
Comments (4)You can use a jelly based paint remover which you apply and scrap off. It was traditional to paint stairs like that until the 1960's. The white gloss border was to allow you to see the stair in poor light (candles), the later brown colour was in fashion in the 1960's when you had a runner of carpet with the brown at each side of the step. On saying all that I would carpet them and save you all the work :)...See MoreShould I paint my kitchen island?
Comments (15)Well I like the downpipe but I think the colour of the back units is throwing it out, these seem to be more creamy? What colour are they painted? Would you be willing to change them too? And could you take a photo in daylight of the worktop and downpipe with no units showing. Hope that’s not too many questions/requests!...See MoreCARPENTA
