Comments (15)It's starting to look great, A couple thoughts: 1) Move the sink to the right and shorten that whole run of base cabinets, (maybe 60cm Trash on the right, then 90cm sink base, 60cm DW), so that the fridge moves to the right into the prep area (or is in between prep and serving).. 2) You definitely need an elevated bar for seating to protect the folks sitting, so that will have to be a "two tier" peninsula. 3) Once you shorten that whole wall, you can either continue with a coffee bar on the left and end it with a tall pantry, or eliminate all those cabinets after fridge altogether and have a store bought credenza as a Coffee Bar. Comments (16)Are you keeping the window in the Breakfast room or opening it up to the courtyard? If leaving as a window and the rooms are wide enough you could possibly take a row of Tall units down the left side of current kitchen, so thats the oven, larder and built in Fridge freezer, then continue down that wall into the Breakfast room with Large Pan Drawers, hob, sink, dishwasher, washing machine. Have low & narrow units opposite the tall units to create a window seat & great for storage. With fold up tables you could use the window seat for additional dining. A long dining table opposite the sink area in the current breakfast room with bench seats depending on width of the room. downside of this design is the distance to get things out of fridge and the need to ensure a work top is near the oven. Just trying to think out of the box I hate the same old look kitchens. you do need a good 3D image to imagine the look, Good luck. Comments (10)Taking principles from external design, I would avoid option 1, as it adds another angle to an already busy scheme. Option 2 Perpendicular to the light source is best as it will add width to the space and the bond is contra to the line of view. The option above with bond perpendicular to the door, leads the eye to the washing machine making it a focal point, also any inaccuracies in laying the bond will be apparent as you enter the room.
