Cushion advice please, thanks!

Fed up with my green/grey cushions so ordered some bright colours - some arrived looking fluorescent!!

They are cheap and cheerful, wipeable, kids just play pillow fights with them or they are used as stepping stones around the living room so don't want to spend lots of pennies on them. I tend to change the cushions each year

Got 2 blue, 2 yellow and 4 orange - the orange turned out to be fluorescent so Amazon let me have them for freebies rather than return them! They are superbright, wonder if I could still make use of the covers but modify them for smaller sized cushions?

Thoughts?

How many cushions for each sofa?

The walls are a blue/grey - look blue most times but in these pics look more grey.

I would prefer to keep some of the cushions, but don't mind adding a few more in same or other colours/sizes/materials.

There are 2 large brown sofas, Dont think they go well with the picture on the wall, so would move that somewhere else if I was keeping some of the cushions, but what type of art/pics for wall?

Any advice more than welcome. This was me ordering random stuff from Amazon and it arrives next day to give me something to look forward to and a break from my work!!

I really like the yellow and the zig zag ones. Not sure about the fluorescent orange but then I’m rubbish at choosing cushions and I’ve a mountain of “I’m not quite sure” cushions in the wardrobe! I think you need minnie101 or Carolina’s magic!

I see this was first posted in November 2015 but just wanted to add that unless you have allergies, feather filled cushions look and feel more comfy. Also nothing smaller than 45cm. I prefer 50cm. I think the decor is really lovely

I much prefer your first layout. Is there anywhere else the second chair can go in your flat? I think an Orla Kiely wallpaper feature wall would suit the mid century/eclectic style of the room and also give you more colour options for cushions. You could pick out the pale pink and team with a navy for example. I'd go for some plain mid century dining chairs.

Hi. Blush pink would look lovely. You can add a couple of things in metallics either in gold or copper to lift it. Have you just painted your walls? If you did want more colour you cold paint them in a soft warm green which would work with the blush and grey, if not a little green in the room would work for accessories and would definitely add a plant somewhere. I'd move the small sofa over so the arms aren't overlapping and then anchor the seating with a rug, I'd go for something patterned. I'd also hang Art over the other sofa, either one large or a few smaller but pick something around 2/3 of the sofa size and hang it just a few inches above the sofa. A coffee and side tables with lamps sounds great.

The big red rug had to go (we still don't know where to sell it), it ended up taking up the entire space, covering the wooden floor. The husband was heartbroken--it was from his flat as a bachelor, but we couldn't make it work. Yay! Would love to take you up on that offer because we are quite overwhelmed and don't quite know where to start!

I ordered some velvet cushion covers from Amazon, dead cheap and they are gorgeous! You certainly don’t have to spend a lot. 👍

If you're keeping the blue zig zag and yellow you could try some geometric prints for the artwork
