Sliding glass sandblasted/opaque glass door to a utility
Comments (3)A sliding door always leaves a gap which wont cut out noise. How about a bi fold door which gives a snug fit. You can then select triple glazed panels to further keep the noise down. I suggest looking at 'doors of distinction', amazing variety of glass patterns tho' may not be double/triple glazed or 'Steve Sherriff ' for ideas. Good luck. Bee...See MoreUtility door
Comments (9)Hello, Have you got an image of the front aspect and where the garage door is? Is it a full garage door size or are you putting on the equivalent of a side door? I think I would keep it to match the other side but change the handle to show it is side door rather than the front door and use the path, lighting and house number to differentiate between front and said side door. I hope that makes sense and I look forward to hearing from you. All the best, Gina...See MoreOutside door in utility room
Comments (7)Thanks for all your comments. Personally I do not need extra space for the kitchen and would prefer the door in the kitchen for convenience especially to dispose the rubbish/recycling materials outside into the big wheelie bins located next to the door outside. The space under the stairs will housed the boiler and general/recycling bin. Due to utility space constraint I prefer no doors and to keep the existing window where the sun gets into. I intend to dry my clothes in the utility room next to the window or using the dryer hence do not feel the need to have access to outside. That is because I do not have dogs or an outdoor person coming in with muddy boots. I am glad that most have said it is personal choice rather than a norm. This is because I am also looking to ensure that any work done to the house will be saleable in the future or appeal to a wider population....See MoreIs it strange to have the dining room at front of house by front door?
Comments (7)Hi Sharon Laughlin, I would usually like to actually see the space and front window to be able to answer 100% ...but I can tell I have proposed this layout on several similar properties layout packages as it is a very good use of space and the times you use the space actually means it isn't too bad with 'on lookers' or lighting to have it this way round. Choosing the right window dressing can help with any concerns but having a great and usable space inside (where you live) is vital. I would be happy to take a quick look and offer an opinion (free of charge) if you wanted to email me your plan and a picture of the room (gina.everett@createperfect.co.uk). I know it seems like a head ache now.. but it will be worth the additional consideration time in the long run rather than just settling for something because it is the 'norm'.
