Do you own the property or are you renting? What is underneath the gravel? Do you use the two lines of flagstones for parking? If you own you will reap the benefit of any improvement, whereas it is hardly worth spending much money if you will be moving on and another will receive any gains. So if it's soil under the gravel, or if whatever it is can easily be cleared to reveal soil, in either instance planting will offer an economical, changing kaleidoscope as plants change colour, flower then set fruit or seed across the seasons. There is some maintenance commitment but for a space that size it won't be much. If you do park there you could put low-growing plants between the two rows of flags. If the ground is well covered in a hard-to-shift material such as thick concrete you could swap the gravel for another colour - various shades of blue or grey or would be a good fit - for a low cost solution. If you own, you could lay setts or attractive patio paving on top of the concrete or whatever is there but be aware of drainage considerations. Is it free draining right now? Whether gravel or other covering you will be restricted to container based plants whether or not you own. I would try to get a climbing plant growing up the wall around where the drainpipe is, just to break up the endless grey facade, and get it branching out over those outcropping lintels above the ground floor windows. A good design could probably achieve quite a lot more but I'm not a designer, just throwing in a few ideas.

Aesthetics aside, you could consider some life-style-technology? Consider getting great Wifi around the home and then adding some intelligent lighting from Lightwave - these affordable units could mean simple control over a few lighting circuits: have a scene that comes on when it gets dark? A scene for evening meal or chilling in the sitting room? And dont forget the front door or garden lighting. Add to this a Ring door bell and even some control over the heating [also done via lightwave] to keep the costs down but also gives easy control. When people read about these life-style options they may see this a nice premium over and above the other homes they're viewing. Good luck

I think the thing for me is that there’s quite a big expanse of white on the lower level around the windows and the door. The rest of your street has a fanlight window above the front door - which again makes for better proportions. Adding a fanlight or adding height to the windows would probably need lintels adding - so could be pricey though. A relatively easier change could be to swap your front door for something more traditional. You also have a huge expanse of white wall at the front -maybe look at changing the wall to lovely railings or if it needs to stay, paint a different colour and add some plants?

Looking at the windows they are grey. To balance I would get a new grey porch. From the age of the house I would think this was built as an open porch that has then been filled in. Any conservatory or window company would be able to replace the whole structure for you with better styling and insulation. The plant looks like a clematis Montana which grows really quickly and needs regular trimming after flowering is over. You might be better training the shrub on the right across the top of the doorway. I would first cut it back against the wall so you can see what you’ve got. It might look a bit shabby initially but will then regenerate - feed it. If you want a climber on the left I would go for Star Jasmine - Trachelospermum Jasminoides. Much easier to control.
