Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Which Bathroom wall should we tile?

Other than within the shower area (full height ) and the basin and wc boxing in, which other walls do you suggest we tile and full height/half height? The designer has the whole bathroom tiled but I'm not keen on that much tiling.

This is the design so far. Tiles and flooring are tbd.

You could perhaps leave the wall with the door and maybe the wall with the radiator. These could be painted. Perhaps half tile around the bath (window wall and wall opposite the basin) up to the same height as the boxing in behind the basin.

I’m with you. I’ve tiled in my shower and behind the sink and that’s it. I’m not keen on wall to wall tiling, but some people love it!

I like both tiles but if you're going for a plain, dark navy tile (?) in the shower I think the softer pattern will work better. The dark tile also appears to be black which wouldn't look as good with navy imo. Some coral accessories/art will break up the blue grey. What colour Is the bath, vanity etc? In terms of dirt a mid tone is better, light and dark both show dirt however I'd guess the lighter tile may be marginally better with its pattern

Hello Minipie, Sounds like you're going to have a very stunning bathroom. We definitely advise tiling your shower walls to full height for obvious reasons, however the rest is really up to preference and how much practical use it's going to get. If you're still having a free-standing bath then it really would depend on how far the bath is away from the walls to determine if you'll need tiles or a waterproof paint. We believe tiles would be the more practical solution as it will add a little more synchronicity with the tiles in your shower area. If your bath is being built in, then tiling all around it would be the best thing to do to make it watertight. Whatever you decide to do it's always nice to leave a wall or half of your walls to a lick of paint every now and again. It adds a bit of longevity to your bathroom and means you have the option to add different colours and freshen it up once in a while. Opun, Your home improvement experts.

I have been reading about rectified tile for the walls. Less grout to keep clean in the bathroom and a more seamless finish. Would it need an expert tiler ? Not thinking of DIY. Would it be worth the extra cost ? Anyone have experience with this tile ? Thanks

Get the loo problem sorted immediately. Probably just a blockage which any plumber can unblock for you, or get a plunger from any diy place, online or plumbers merchant.
