Comments (38)totally agree with all the comments. your kitchen is lovely, it just looks a little bare as you've not moved in and lived in it yet. Add some plants, add some accessories, get some warmth into the room. you could add some glass to the walls - particularly in the recess of your range cooker. I love the stone mantel. your room is gorgeous. I don't agree with the comments on your floor, it looks to me like it tones with the mantel. kitchens always look bare until they've been accessorised - this room has been brought to life by our clients use of accessories....See MoreFinding the right splasback
Comments (7)What colour to you want your window sill? Are you looking for the sill to match the window colour? If so companies sell upvc in white, oak or rosewood colour. A joiner should be able to make you a timber sill if that's what you want. Alternatively Axiom by Formica sell their splashbacks complete with a edging strip as opposed to Bushboard (from memory) who don't. Look online at Axiom colours and see what's included within the cost of the splashbacks. If you don't like what they have to offer you can look at Prima, Omega or Egger as standard splashbacks but most times they do not included any edging. A good joiner will be able to source a laminate sheet to match and rip down into strips in the same colour but do be aware that the matching sheets are large so you might have to pay for the cost of the whole sheet even if you do not use it all. Where are you based? Do you have a specific pattern number/code in mind?...See MoreAlison
Comments (10)Hi thank you. Yes we like bright colour contemporary style easily changeable. Would consider glass splashback but may be expensive ??what are your thoughts on mirror s/back ? there is a window 1150 m 1000m which is 1/3 of way along space opposite were talking about. Currently dressed with a recently purchased JL roller blind red/brown white b/ground but could be changed. If it was mirrored/plain glass splashback how high would you recommend it went above worktop height, as there are no wall units there? might it not look lost if only say 50-60 cm ? We have 1.3m to ceiling from w/top height., space 2 m wide. The sink side has 3 other wall faces, 1 either side hob and to side of window and door would you recommend that to be in same colour/covering if w/paper /paint was the answer. Has a short section awkward ceiling comb which we've found difficult to w/paper in past. We did see a w/paper online purple contemporary straight line medium sized flowers will try to find again unfortunately didn't save- lesson learnt ! Don't have any pictures but loads in digital form , mainly landscape and mountains. Thank you for your patience if you've read this far. Alison...See MoreKitchen colours & finishing touches - help
Comments (64)Hi all, progress is slow but the builders will be back to finish in 3 weeks or so. We're definitely decided on the oblique latte mix - thanks for the suggestion colourhappy! So now we need to decide on paint colours, and I agree with the suggestions of the dark grey on the opposite wall to match the island. But I'm not sure what to do with the rest of the walls. Any thoughts? What would you do?...See Morerandjb
