Can I fully tile a bathroom which was half -tiled 10 years ago?
Comments (14)I am a tiler so its in my interest to persuade people to fit more tiles but I agree with the other people who are questioning why you want to do this. You can transform the room with wall paper as Kerosis suggests and if you tire of that in a few years it is easy to remedy. I always point out to people that tiles are put on the wall as a practical durable easy to clean surface and therefore it is often not necessary to put them everywhere. If you do decide to fit tiles then you should remove the paint on the walls 1st as that was only ever designed to hold itself on the walls and it doesn't matter how brilliantly your adhesive hangs onto that paint if the extra load causes the paint bond to fail then your tiles will no longer be bonded to the wall (no such problem with lightweight wallpaper :-) Terry the tiler...See MoreNeed bathroom inspirations for compact bathroom
Comments (10)Hi. I'm a bit confused, have you bought the vanity and are looking to paint it? Is the rest of the bathroom fitted as you could add brass or copper taps for instance with a matching mirror? Accessories will also warm it. I like a little wooden stool in a bathroom which you can add accessories to i.e. A candle, natural sponge, flannel etc which has some texture. A plant on the window sill if you have one and then nice accessories for the sink and either some coloured towels or I like hammam ones. I've found a couple of pics but they may not post as houzz has issues :( These are using deep rich colours which may bring the cabinet towards you a little. A darker top for the vanity would also work...See MoreFrom dated disabled shower room to trendy bathroom
Comments (0)I hated our tired old bathroom which was minus a bath with a disabled walk in shower from the previous owner. After a lot of hard work ripping everything out to the bare walls we replaced it with our own modest but vastly more user friendly bathroom. I think the dark flooring goes unexpectedly well with the rest of the room, which our knowing fitter recommended and I did not even consider originally.Finished pic shows a practical bath with shower and screen...See MoreBathroom tile colours, please help.
Comments (5)Thanks all for your help. Yes we are only having patterned floor, wall tiles in wet area largish white. I love the look of wood vanity but when we saw it in showroom it just wasn't quite right, being wood effect. When I swapped for blue vanity in my picture it flet better to me as we will have loads of wood elsewhere on house but what others may see as a boring/dull blue is actually quite adventurous for us! I've posted again on my 'final' decision. Thanks for the help. My nerves are much calmer now with all your friendly and wise input....See MoreHU-595675044
