Hi, I'm wondering if the sink is painted on the underside in the darker colour or if the sink is manufactured this way? thanks

Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best...

Hi, What are your kitchen units like? Personally I think that the mix of the floor and those bevelled-type tiles would be a bit much for me, it might be better to go for ones that echo the same design as the floor but in a more subtle way. It might be a good idea to get some samples though of the ones you like and see if you can get a bit more of an idea of what it would look like in your space. These are some more toned down marble hexagon tiles. In this kitchen they used a similar shape tile on the backsplash but kept it plain. Or - you could copy the floor!

We’re in the middle of having our bathroom done at the mo and ours is a similar size (although a little squarer) and same ceiling height. We previously had tile on the bath walls to just above the shower head (similar to your 3/4 idea) and then we had tile half way up the other walls, with boxing in under the window (also tiled) to windowsill height to give a usable shelf. The 3/4 tile thing was ok but didn’t look brilliant. Your image looks fab but I think that’s because I think it’s quite a bit taller than 2.7m! We are now going to tile to the ceiling on the bath walls and then not bothering on the other walls. Instead I’ve bought a vanity unit with an upstand and I’ve bought Little Greene Intelligent Matt emulsion for the walls as it’s supposed to be one of the best scrubbable paints for bathrooms (fingers crossed!). Just a thought - could you put the bath along the 1.8m wall where the sink and loo currently are? The shower valve could possibly be sunk into the wall opposite the window? Have you bought your shower and bath filler yet? It sounds exactly like what we’ve gone for. I think my plumber is currently cursing me as I type!!!

I initially felt it would be worth tiling the whole thing but the dimensions of the room are such that there's not really any other way I'd configure it. I might get some budget tiles of the same size and use them for the bit that's out of sight, so the appliances etc are all level. Good point about being able to slide them out easily if need be (although they're all integrated so it'll be a pain in the back side regardless) Thanks for the speedy responses!
