Mylands. You always regret your economies. I've repainted this kitchen 4X over the years, and last time was in Dulux which wore so poorly. Just custom mixed a new vibrant duck egg to paint my kitchen in marble matt walls, eggshell woodwork, and floor paint. Mylands matched impeccably. It was a dream of coverage, and looks spectacular. The quality of the pigment shows, looks the money, nothing like synthetic mediocre pigments in cheaper paint. It's a big improvement.

Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up your living area I think a select piece of art would really make the room stand out, add interest and add a great talking point to the room.... There might be a way without sewing. At least not much but you won’t get the seam without sewing I’m afraid. I couldn’t find any tutorials or images so did a rough sketch. Firstly you’ll need to cut the fabric into a large circle, enough to cover the whole footstool. Then either remove the old covering or just remove the button and cover over. Pinch the reverse of the cut fabric in the centre and wrap a small elastic band really tight, you could even use thread and sew or knot it for extra tightness. The point of this is so you get some nice gathers on top of the foot stool. Then flip fabric right way up, staple centre where button was then staple underneath. Should create a ruched effect all the way round or you could be creative and do some folds. Lastly sew a new button on top and hey presto:). I’ve included an image (click pics to enlarge) of an Indian mandala style throw as a busy circular pattern would be ideal for this kind of project.

yes I like the jungle idea possibly, though not sure if should keep with ivy as it matches whats currently there.. , not sure about the shelves or seating by the TV though. In the room next door there is an an 8 seater table, and a kitchen island, so its not as though this is the only place to have seating I guess. I like the ideas of natural look, almost Japanese, bamboo, bringing the garden in, just having difficulty with which wall colours, what to do with the post? keep white or make a colourful feature of it, and also what colour sofa bed, rug, paint on the walls to make everything blend in. It's so difficult, can't go for a lightish sofa, as it would just get too dirty, but I'm open to all ideas and very very much appreciate both yours and Rukmini's I have no idea how to put a room pic together like that so it helps massively. They have a lot of friends round, so a comfy rug /beanbags are also great, as long as we can also put them somewhere away too, so they're not in the way
