Paint colour advice to match cream + mink + gold accessories

Hi, I am having wardrobes fitted and they will need painting. I am useless with design! I have light cream, mink, blush and matt gold accessories to match the wardrobes and walls to. Something neutral and 'sludgy' maybe? Nothing too dark. Any ideas/tips gratefully received! Thank you :)

I think a nice taupe would work, although a picture of the room so far would help. Something like F&B Elephants Breath or Dulux Perfectly taupe. However these shades can look grim in a room with low light levels. What aspect is the room?

First pic is Elephants Breath and 2nd is Perfectly Taupe.

I'd say a pale grey (flat like aluminum or warm greige like dove) for the walls and cream for the wardrobes and other woodwork.

Or seablue/teal/midnight blue walls?

Thank you. Yes had to use my powers to persuade my partner :D I'm kidding it was quite easy actually. I was looking at that FC rug actually but the size put me off. Looking at your picture I must say I quite like layered rugs. Need to put some masking tape down to see where they could be placed..I'm struggling to imagine it. Or anything else in fact :) We've decided the sofa will stay at the wall for now. It just feels better. I'll order some white hydrangeas..thanks for the tip I'll look at M&S or Bloom does 3 for 2 too. We have an ornate rectangular golden mirror which I want to test above the fire surround before I look for a new one. Not sure about a coffee table. I was going to wait for the armchair to be delivered to help me see if a coffee table is needed..? Will check out the art and cushions. I guess I do need to order a rug(s) or console so we can go from there..

Thank you both for your comments. Yes we are very lucky to have such a nice room which is why I want to get it looking right. I really like some of your suggestions Minnie 101. I wasn’t keen on the orange with the cushions I currently have on the sofas but the ones you have sent a picture of look much nicer. I also like the idea of a bigger rug which goes under the feet of the chairs. I haven’t yet picked any wallpaper no. Yes Carolina, I know what you mean about the tv but unfortunately there isn’t room on the left wall, it would have to cover half a window. Also the best view from this room is actually to the right of the tv. So it’s only really blocking the view of the drive. I’m not sure how else I could make it work really? Interesting about the mirror. I’ve never thought about it like that. This little area annoys me a little and I’ve always thought it was the lamp or the mess on the console. Maybe it the mirror. I really like some of the items both of you have shown. Is there a link at all that I’m missing to these items or is it just for ideas? Not fully sure how this all works. Hello a bit late, perhaps your room is done? :) I would just say not to go with the blues and grays, our living room currently has oatmeal carpet, we recently moved in and put our chocolate brown couches and gold/cream/beige striped silk cushions in there. There was a blue feature wall and we had to paint it ! Looked awful. We are eventually changing the whole room for a black/gray/white scheme but as it is, blue and gray definitely don't match. Of all the paint options celerygirl posted I like the dark rich shades the best. Maybe just a feature wall if you're hesitant and the other 3 off-white. Not sure if this is any use!

HI, If your not keen on Dark colours then how about doing the panelling in a light grey which compliments your dining furniture and a Peachy Pink (don't be put off it looks fab with a grey colour). 'Brave Ground' is this years Dulux colour of the year. It's a cross between grey and beige with a warmer look that will compliment your blush and gold tones. Good luck.
