what type of curtains or blinds for this open plan living area?
Comments (9)I would definitely not use curtains, they will shrink the room! If you want to add a soft touch and texture you could use Roman Blinds p, which fold so you can keep them up like a pelmet. I would either use white linen, or something neutral like this one called Postcard Natural from Web Blinds. http://www.web-blinds.com/postcard-natural-roman-blind/ For the kitchen I would use a faux wood, wide slotted blind, which is moisture resistant, can be pulled right up or be tilted to provide just the right amount of privacy or shade. When open it is quite unobtrusive, see this sample http://www.web-blinds.com/innovation-chic-white-fauxwood-5/ Last but not least, get a good company to draft seal company your sash Windows, makes a huge difference and preserves energy. Can highly recommend Ventrolla. http://www.ventrolla.co.uk/locations/ventrolla-head-office?gclid=CjwKEAjwsYW6BRCTzvu5y8DPhi0SJABnGLlHlEdiU6T4Mu2axO7Psj21m6Zj9izA-3RmEaLBvjnV6hoC1L3w_wcB...See MoreShutter blinds or Roman blinds?
Comments (12)Hi lu9349 This is a really pretty window feature and I think that the addition of a window seat is an excellent idea here. Take a look at how we have styled this window seat area below using translucent dim out fabric. If you're going for a Hampton's/French provincial look I suggest the following swatches. Soft White above. Below Meadow Spring [ties in with your stained glass tint], Spring White Twig. Bloc Blinds range fit perfectly to the windows they are designed for. This allows easy installation of the blinds in minutes with no specialised equipment. We have a range of plain and pattern blackout and dim out fabrics to suit any window and you will find that additional curtains and shutters will be unnecessary. The blind can be fitted on the edge of the window recess or inside the recess providing a clean and stylish aesthetic in your bedroom. For further advice or support on how to install don’t hesitate to contact our team at info@blocblinds.com and we’ll be happy to help. Good Luck! Síle...See MoreShutters, blinds or curtains? Comments (6)Hi Danni, Shutters would look fabulous with your Parisian style - they are famed for their gorgeous continental look. You ask about different styles, so I'll post a few examples for you to get a feel for them: This lilac shutter is the full-height style. That means the shutter covers the whole of the window and there is no split in the middle. It's also a custom colour choice - where you can match your shutter to practically any paint colour shade. These shutters are tier-on-tier. This means that the top and bottom slats operate independently of each other, so you can have the top ones folded back while still keeping privacy with the bottom ones closed. Finally, these shutters are café-style which means they only cover the bottom half of the window. They're perfect if you're after the privacy, but still want to make the most of the light or show off a feature such as stained glass. Hope that helps a little - please let me know if you have any more questions on shutters! Good luck, Zoe...See MoreTed Baker Bedding...what should i put at the window for curtains/blind
Comments (8)Hi, As already suggested, full length curtains would be lovely and add to the romantic feel you're already creating with that lovely bedding. You could choose a combination of voile curtains and fully lined blackout ones to give you a flexible approach to light and privacy control. I've attached a picture of how they look layered. I think I'd probably pick one colour out and go for a plain curtain that matches that, to let your bedding do the talking! Best of luck, Zoe...See Morejtemm
