Large gap bewteen the Concrete Slab and floor level
Comments (1)It depends on the insulation, the pipe fitting method and the final floor finish. You need to talk to the installers, or, if you are fitting it yourself then the suppliers of the pipe system and sub-floor....See MoreGlitter paint on concrete floor - any advice on how to do this?
Comments (4)Thanks Patrina. We looked into resin floors a bit for our kitchen but found we hadn't left enough depth - they require about 4mm. I need this to be as level as possible with the hallway brick floor. If I have to put a threshold bar in I might as well just use an offcut of 2mm sheet flooring. I wondered about using some sort of durable floor varnish over a non floor paint or glitter chips though. Hopefully someone will have done similar and be able to advise....See MorePainting paving slabs...?
Comments (5)I know you can get concrete dye but don't think it would work going that colour way. You could do it with masonry paint and once it's dry, seal it with a concrete sealer on the top which should help keep it more durable. We stained our top concrete patio (used to be a shed base!) in a charcoal dye with sealer mixed in. Lasts maybe a year or so depending on traffic. You could also get a motif pattern and mix it up ie do cream base with a darker pattern on it so when it fades it will look more vintage. Then seal it. Almost like a rug effect?...See Moregarden design help
Comments (2)I’m not a garden designer by any means, but I do love gardening. I removed my lawn for the exact same reason! It was a revolting quagmire of mud and dog wee 🤢. I’ve never painted concrete slabs but there was another post on here last week asking for advice on that so it may help you to search for it. i think a lovely garden can be created with old or secondhand slabs. There are always ones for sale or free on Gumtree or Facebook selling or recycling pages. I think it’s the planting that really makes a garden. Gravel is cheap and plants look fab next to it. i’m finding it a little difficult to view your pictures as they have been listed as a vote system. Could you share more pictures of the garden looking down the garden and another looking up at the House? The garden also seems to be dominated by the washing line. There are retractable washing lines which reel back into the receptacle when not in use which would be an answer. Once we have more pictures I’m sure more Houzzers will comment. This is my grassless garden....See Moretwamleyk
