Darker Internal Door Handles to Match Window Frames?

Afternoon, we are doing a new build and have decided to have RAL7016 Dark Grey WIndow Frames on the inside as well as out. Do you think that having 7016 Grey handles for the internal doors trying to match the window frames is a good look?

I would prefer a contrast. Perhaps black.

Hello. Those doors are beautiful and do not need glass that will block your view and compete for attention. My suggestion is to have clear glass. If you can find old style antiqued glass, or handmade glass that would be my vote. Otherwise just use plain glass. The key is the view through the doors (both ways). The doors will function as a frame so arrange furniture accordingly. I suggest new long curtains that hang closer to the ceiling. A beautiful neutral linen, or something that excites you. If you hang a vibrant or patterned curtain then your black sofa (is it a chair?) will not dominate the view through the doors. If you elect for a neutral curtain, then you may want to relocate the black sofa in favour of a more neutral piece. Beautiful home, what we can see of it. Good luck!

It's better to use the same everywhere but you could also have one type downstairs and another one upstairs for instance. as long as you cannot see 2 different handles at the same time, it works. I would choose the finish depending on what you have around for cupboard, lighting,... and stick to it (if your cupboard handles are polished brass go for polished brass everywhere). One thing to look for is to get sprung handles so it is not only the lock getting your handle back up. I use Hafele for my ironmongery and I have never been disappointed.

I have similar (fire)doors in my flat and painted one of them white. Not a great look. T Gray's association with a fire exit comes close. :) I can't quite make out whether I like the look in combination with the black posts etc.or not. It looks good in the close up, with quite a retro feel to it, but perhaps within the context of the the house they may well be a bit of an eyesore. In that case, yes replace them.

Also had similar issues. To my mind anthracite or black windows can look good IF they are done well - they look good when they are good quality windows with modern flat profiles, fitted to a house which has had proper architectural consideration. The problem now is that all the cheaper upvc double glazing companies are doing them with thick frames and chamfered profiles, and they can look clunky and old fashioned rather than sleek and considered. Our sliding doors only came in 4 colour choices, so in the end we have gone for RAL7021 (a soft black) for those - on the modern rear extension - with RAL7006 (beige grey) aluminium composite windows elsewhere on our 1930s house. The sliding doors are in and the 7021 does look really good, almost invisible as the frames are very slim, and I think it works because it's the very modern extension. The windows aren't in yet so I can't comment on how it's all going to work together. I am keeping my fingers crossed...! Our windows will be Velfac which are alu outside, painted timber inside and you can choose different colours for interior/exterior. They weren't as expensive as I thought they were going to be, so it's worth getting a quote for aluminium composite windows before you decide.
